We want drop 238 volts across the resistor for power a LED in 240 volts. The current requirement of LED is 0.02 A. According to Ohms law, We need 12 K resistor, for safety purpose 15 K resistor is enough. What is your opinion?. Because higher resistance reduce light intensity.
