Normally I speed up youtube videos up to 1.5 speed to get through them quickly, but, I listen to Wes's videos at normal speed to be able to savor every word. His videos are so informative, clear, and connects all the dots.
Thank you for making these videos. Anyone searching for truth and more deep dive knowledge benefits from all of these videos, highly informative and gives a broader context to see how scripture fits into history. Thanks Wes!
Apologists always over simplify questions like this. Instead if ‘did the Israelites steal from the Egyptians?’ a better question would be ‘were the Israelites influenced by the Egyptians (and Mesopotamians?’ or ‘were Christians influenced by the Hellenistic ideas that surrounded them?’ These questions would make for a far more interesting discussion.
@@ApologeticsCanada Sure. But as a generalization, evangelicals tend to ask oversimplified questions that are easy to answer. J Warner Wallace- “Is Christianity *just* a fairy tale?” Easy to answer- no. But does Christianity have fairy tale (JWW’s word choice) elements? That’s a much more interesting conversation. So rather than use clickbait titles, Xtians should pose more challenging and honest questions about their faith. And if the subject matter deals with nuance, then the title should suggest as much.
I’ve subscribed and am definitely going to watch this video later, as two handsome young men discussing something that I’m very much interested in learning more about is definitely a win/win for me ❤
The Ancient Israelites who were African didn’t steal it, it was part of their African Culture. Their Culture was stolen by Caucasian Europeans & Arabs. Those statues are more than 50,000 years old. 🙏🏿🙌🏾
@@BigIdeaSeeker I totally hear you, and I can appreciate what you're getting here! There's something to be said about a good hook, however. If our goal is to invoke interaction, the viewer's responsibility is to follow through. If a movie incorporated the setting, plot and conclusion into the trailer, no one would watch. The intrigue is in the "landing" not merely the takeoff.
The wild thing is that athiest will swear up and down that the Israelites were never in Egypt while simultaneously saying that they stole their religion from them 😂 make it make sense!
The Israelites went to Egypt with their religion(Yahweh). Joseph was very influential and because of him, the pharaoh and the people during that time acknowledged Jehovah as the true and living God(The story of Joseph). So Joseph would’ve been the person along with the Hebrews who migrated to Egypt at the time very influential over the Egyptians in terms of religion. The covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Israel would’ve been carried to Egypt and been practiced by them. Recall also they were in Egypt for more than four hundred years. Almost 2 generations would’ve been passed before they were in slavery for over four hundred years.
Also recall that Abraham would’ve been at Egypt and he was influential there as well, Isaac and Jacob as well. So even before Israel was a nation God was the cornerstone of the Israelites religion who influenced the Egyptians rulers. To the point where God spoke directly to the king of Egypt and threatened to kill him because he was interested to make Abraham’s wife his own(Abraham’s lied to him about Sarai being his half sister and not his wife) Isaac was the same thing. The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob was already introduced to Egypt long before the Israelites went down during Joseph’s time
Be righteous in your words they were ancient Afrikans. The Hebrews, the jews they are us who turned away from God due to the influence of the fallen. That's why no matter how many Europeans or others become christ like the chosen people has to return for the return of the son of God to happen and I believe we are on the cusp of the beginning of this transition
When Europeans accept the Truth and stop LYING you will have a better understanding. Firstly, they were not Ancient near Eastern, they were Ancient Africans which is were the Biblical foundation began in Africa. 🙏🏿🙌🏾

If the Egyptians were already doing circumcision how exactly would the Hebrews doing it set them apart as the chosen ones?
It set them apart from the Canaanites
Through all the rules they had to follow like it is written in the Bible

Ssssshhh, we don't talk obvious logic here
Our GOD made their gods!
A minute amount of priests and Kings could read hieroglyphics......i think most don't know this.
What did one Canadian say to the other in the scorching Egyptian heat?
At least as Christian Apologists, we're used to defending under fire, eh?
Whatever do you mean? Christ was called up from Egypt. The people of David set out from Babylon. It's a mash up.
Remember the fallen were with God before they were cast out of heaven and egypt worship the outcast angels.
Egypt was super natural
