I have male teachers who say salam before they start teaching. Is this allowed? Because they're talking to us anyways. They might as well just start with salam? Please convey this question to Dr Zakir.
I’m no scholar but if it’s his job to teach and you are in the appropriate setting befitting to a teacher teaching his students I don’t think it is a problem.

Dear brother I don't know any other place I can message to send this so i must do it here but we must make sure the letter ذ is not said like the letter ز it is very important in reciting Quran and also it may change the meaning .جزاكم الله خير

Means women that you cannot marry such as your mother sister and so on... Look into it in Shaa Allah
One more thing many times i travel by taxi or go to the shopes for buying somthing i always say salam at the 1st even they are na mehram to me but starting from excuse me brother i say salam brother and tell my concern, like this its permisable. I hope so.
Initiating it is not permitted
Also traveling alone with male driver is big sin

We often see when salam is given to sisters they rudely shy away and dont reply, yet they go and talk with the non-muslim with close tone that she just ignored you to be away from!!!---
Its very rude to dont reply to your brothers in faith, And also try to avoid talking with Non-muslim mens let alone Non-practicing-muslim brothers!!!---
Be careful sisters otherwise, Be sinful of your own deed on will!!!

Talking to men is HARAM without a necessity
You heard Dr.Naik, you CANNOT initiate salam to non mahram
Bruh The scholar just said that replying to the salam is makruh. The sisters should not unless if they are elderly.
