Have watched K-dramas for several years. This is one of the very best. So glad Wo Do-hwan gained the male lead--his acting skills are amazing--he should win an award! In fact, all the actors are excellent--the whole drama should be taking home wins in several categories. The themes really make one think. The camera work is beautiful, the script and directorial are both warm and jarring-- we really connect with the characters. It will tickle your funny bone, pull at your heart strings and ignite your brain synapses.

I found the ending sad! Wish that it could have ended on a happier note!

I find ending kind of open one. They show us that he closed his eyes and said goodbye to the world but his death is only assumption. Look, after that „death” scene we see their jeep driving at the sunset. Also that was mentioned a couple of times that their fate turned to be like that because of their words said during their breakup. Then, when they are in the mountain house, he wishes her happiness and love in life by singing a song-we all know that he is her love and happiness so losing him will take that away for her 😅 I am an optimist and I will always be but I don’t accept this kind of ending! 😂
I would rather think that the Universe/God depending on what you believe in, made him sick so he could find himself again and find his way to the happiness. Once he realises that he wants to truly live again, his fate might change. The guy who pretended to be his dad and stole his money was also diagnosed with a cancer but the illness was gone after few years so it is possible. I believe that him thinking that he is dying was indeed the beginning of his new life as his true self as the part of him died-the part of him which was not needed anymore. It’s better to think about that this way 😝 Who is with me?😂

Are you saying his dad was figuratively his dad because he was there from the beginning or was the it not true that the sperm was switched? Did they have the same dna?

Mainly I am saying figuratively, by the end of the show Hae-Jo realizes it doesn't matter who his biological dad is because it doesn't really matter.

This program couldn’t decide whether to be a comedy or a sentimental crying fest. It was at its best as a comedy. The ending is a let-down that has no meaning and adds nothing to the story. Why include a raft of sad circumstances to a good comic narrative? What were the creators thinking?

They were thinking that this is not a children's story and it is not simple-minded American crap. The best Korean drama understands catharsis. The Greeks, who so far as we know invented drama, felt that it allowed us to release our pent-up emotions. Not just one emotion, but the bewildering complex of emotions that life can give us. This series examines the unfairness of life and tries to determine what is truly important. The characters have been damaged by their experiences and sometimes stumble in their attempts. It finds both humour and pathos in their search and gives them joy before the inevitable end. This is why I became hooked on Kdramas ,and this is one of the best.

Why did they hit him in the head so much. Disturbing. The language was bad as well.

I left after episode three as I found the male lead too abusive.
