Obviously a better pathing tool is the number one thing I want. Also the way you proposed the redesign for the coaster builder is something I agree with completely.
My list. I started playing Planet Coaster quite awhile after the game was fully content complete so the experience might be fresher in my mind than some others. - Performance improvements so that Sylvarette can actually play the game to his heart's content. - More station variety such as side loading stations and unique stations for rides like river rapids. As well as switch tracks, maintenance sheds etc. Adds more gameplay to the coaster portion by creating unique requirements for each ride. - Plaza builder, maybe something like drawing the outline of an area and then filling it in to create path area. They could reuse the fence border system from Planet Zoo for this. - Fix the prestige system, it's so annoying that multiple rides are pointless because there's nothing the player can do to make guests want to go on them. Why does the swinging ship even exist in Planco? Add more emphasis on guest types such as families and teens. Kids areas, etc. - Toggle-able theming on flat rides. The option to disable or swap the theming on gentle and thrill rides so that they can match themes better. - Randomized guest preferences that affect the popularity of different foods and shops. Perhaps coupled with regions like in Zoo. Asian parks would favor Asian cuisine, etc. - Sponsorships for restaurants, and the necessity to have ads if you want the bigger names in restaurants. - More realistic costs, current game is broken because one coaster can fund an entire park forever. Some mechanic that requires ride replacement would add a challenge. - Coastal map and Ocean map types. Better water physics. - More foliage and different regions, even if they just pull everything from Planet Zoo. - a foliage painter that adds untamed nature to an area to make map building wild/forested areas easier. - A waterpark expansion, and a resorts expansion that expands the hotel content. - In-universe equivalents to real world ride builders like B&M, RMC, GCI. research tool can be changed to "funding" the ride builders. - Every theme should have blueprints for shops/restaurants/facilities so that players that don't want to make custom buildings all the time still have some options. Planco blueprints are heavily biased towards the Pirate and Western themes, while others are barren of any variety.
Faster terraforming. Stations- as you mentioned different types. I would like the ones where the guests stand on a conveyor so they go the same speed as the constantly moving train. Also people per hour needs to be displayed on coaster status.
One of my dream features are the ability to "paint paths". And also the complete control of how flat rides move/ coaster/dark ride vehicles move. Kinda like a 360 sphere tool.
My biggest wish is BETTER FLAT RIDES!! I mean the theming in first place. Like, some flat rides are so heavy themed that you can't use a theme except the theme it already has. So my in imagination it could have like different prethemed options and a completely not themed, so you can theme it yourself!
For me there are things i would love to see: 1. More flat rides adding an option wich you can select differents looks for changing theme. 2. More kid stuffs like small flats parks or small coaster. 3. Not mechanical atractions like paths for scare zones, House of horrors or multiadventure paths or a mad House. 4 Better Shows!! I would love to manage a show with characters In a Big theatre , Circus , west House whatever.. 5. More Game shops. 6. Improvement on restaurants like in Planet zoo. 7. Improvement on Water rides.

The idea to have to select just the track type and a car type is on the paper an easy implementation, but causes many different edge cases or things to think about. For example what if you select track type a and car type a, which in combination has a certain set of elements available. Because not every steel track should have chainlifts or launch sections and vice-versa. While building you decide to change to car type b, which doesn't support a track piece supported by car type a. What should happen? is the user blocked from proceeding? Do they need to delete these pieces first before switching, are they auto deleted and you end up with a fragmented track? And this is just one situation of many. So I do agree to improve and make coaster building more accessible. But providing multiple coasters to choose freely, is more simple to develop, even if not user friendly nor good from an architectural pov.
I just had a cool dlc idea thanks to your seasons idea. What if they did a dlc like the spooky, but add entertainers that would act as scare actors if that makes sense.
Imo one of the most vital feature missing from planet coaster is the lack of heartlining. You can add somewhat realistic heartlining with the 4 meter methot but you need to exaggerate the banking like crazy in order to keep a bit of heartlining having in implemented in the smoothing tool would be so handy to create coasters in NL2's league without sacrificing half of your like expectancy tweaking the smoothing.
The only reason accessibility probably hasn't been a mechanic is the simulation genre is that its a lot less power to make the peeps able-bodied. Queer couples/families only meddles with guest generation. RCT3 might not have generated a gay couple unless you created one in the builder (even if it can't be set as such in the games code)
Great video! The last leak said it was delayed because of covid, the path system is staying, and it’s due for a late 2023 announcement. I spose’ we’ll see if that’s valid this year. I do think it’ll be next year that we’ll see the game released, at the soonest.
We dont have the slightest hint atm that PC2 is happening. So its unlikely we will get it next year with an announcement this year. We dont even know if a part 2 is coming at all. The Management has changed and other projects get more prioritization. Leaks doesnt mean anything and they are from 4-5 years ago. It has been said its gonna come after JW2 and other games were released after that and still no announcement. And idk where you get the Info that it was postponed bcs of covid. I cant find any source.

i had a dream that we got planet theme park announcement, where both planet coaster and planet zoo was in there, so there was 3 games mode, one if you only wanna build a coaster park, one if you only wanna build a zoo, and a third where those 2 are mixed together, so you could build coaster and have animals 🙂

Always wanted to love the planet games. Unfortunately I couldn't get over the frustration of feeling like I was constantly fighting the design mechanics. If they create friendlier systems such as pathing and creative design in general, I'd be a happy chappy.

I was going to say I really hope they develop a game that is more inclusive and less ableist and then you were like "ACCESSIBILITY" and I was like, well, okay, Rudi just gets it! I think the only thing I would add: A more commited longterm commitment to the game. If Frontier expects to keep these games going like Sims or NoLimits has gone, they're going to need to continue to fund towards optimizing and improving the game even after the main game and all DLCs are released. It's an absolute INSULT to the community when you compare PlanCo to PlanZo in how Frontier has favored and developed. Yes, it's easy to argue things like money or game engine, but at the end of the day Frontier isn't really showing love to their product by favoring one "child" over another in the way they've been doing so. That being said, I love PZ, too, and hopefully the growth of learning from these games will result in Frontier mastering their potential in the longrun better a second time around. I am still NOT believing a PC2, though. There's just SO many other titles for them to explore and so many other elements to consider. I would actually encourage Frontier to consider other titles FIRST because PC2 is going to require such a massive committed change, I'd rather they learn from their mistakes in things like Luxury Resort management or Transport Mangement before returning to Theme Park Mangement (as those titles would allow for growth in developing knowledge that could work for an improved title).
I don't agree. Theme Park games have been around since I was a kid, and they have always been popular. People actually want to play Theme Park simulators. Not many people want to play games like Luxury Resort or Transport Management. When I say I was kid, I was born in 1977. So, I pretty much aged with video games in the home. Atari came out the year I was born, and as I grew up, the video games seemed to age with me. I remember playing Frogger at 2 years old on one of those little toy arcades.
I think it would be great to have some guests in wheelchairs, which would force people to consider accessibility. Understand that the pathing difficulties mean that it’s a lot of hassle to programme but would still be nice…
I think the biggest improvement Planet Coaster needs is a coasterbuilder in which you don't directly place track pieces but lay guides for a track laying robot. First you would draw the track's 2D footprint which we will call the footline.In every situation the robot will only travel above that footline. For the vertical guidance, nodes we will call hoops are placed along the footline. These can only be moved vertically and along the footline. When activated, the robot will travel along the footline flying through each hoop making a trail of track.
I am just going to play devils advocate, cause that is what I do. The 4 meter rule is dumb. Coasters are not smooth, have you ever been on one? Have you ever watched a first person view or a even a camera mounted to the seat view, its not smooth. All the coasters in the game where people went to extreme lengths to make them smooth look unreal to me. I guess it would be very limiting to what you can do with a track if you only worked in 4 meter increments. But if you use different lengths you get different types of movement. So, when you add it all together you have infinite possibilities. So, again, this is why the 4 meter rule is dumb. You limit your possibilities to obtain something that is not even realistic. Don't get me started on parking lots, if I wanted to make parking lots I would get Planet Parking Lot. And, to me, a theme park in this game looks just as real with or without a parking lot. And all this does it take away resources you can do in the park. But the only thing in this video where I was like yes, was one way paths. I still don't understand why that is not in the game yet, or even in Planet Zoo. The que line is already a one path. But I think it has to do with how pathing works. All the main path is considered traversable area, it's all one unit. The que path breaks that traversable area into a one way to the ride. The could do that with a one way path, though so I don't get that. Things I am not asking for, because I believe they are given and one of the only reasons why new games get made. It will look better and it will run better, and most likely the interface will be a little bit better. Kind of like how Planet Zoo is just a little bit better at all things they do, Planet Coaster will probably take that and add even a little more to make things better. So, I am not asking for that. Because if they are not doing that already, then why are they making a new game. Park management doesn't have to go that extreme. My favorite park management game was Theme Park, which I had on the 3DO. What I want in the game. Is what I see when I go to an amusement park. And, they do quite a bit of that already. 1. Arcade 2. Carnival Games 3. Music - Live Music and Performances 4. More Themed Characters, Lot's more! 5. Water Park 6. Mini Golf 7. Pictures, when you first get to the park, and then after you get off rides. ...any many more things similar Technically what I wish they could do, is what Little Big Planet did. You could make something in LBP and it could be 40 pieces, but once you combined them together to make one thing those 40 pieces would no longer equal 40 and only equal 1 piece. So, like when you build in Planet Coaster or Planet Zoo, and make these building with 500 plus pieces, you combine it all together to be just 1 piece, which would give a lot of the resources back to the computer, to make even bigger and better parks. Back to the tracking again, 4 meters is dumb, don't forget it, and anyone telling you otherwise is making you lose so much possibilities in your coaster creations. Because depending on the length of the track you get different types of slopes. Each length has a different slope. Or more at the apex of where the slop begins. 45% is the same no matter the length, but where the slope begins and ends is different depending on the length.
I just wannt frontier to go back to their old scheme of releasing expansions instead of 10 different dlc packs. The way they went with pc and pz really made me loose all hope for the devs. Posting about updates beeing free when in reality game updates are always free, cutting content from the game just to sell it in the deluxe version. Its terrible. And i dont even want to mention the mess that jwe is at the moment :/ Why not release planet coaster 2 and make 2 massive expansions that really bring change to the game?
We have staff pathing in Planet Zoo, and if that's anything to go by and if they put it in a PlanCo 2.......well let's just say it will need improvement
everyone wants a better pathing system but nobody has a practical way to implement one. Seeing stuff like "paintable pathing" whilst completely ignoring the 3d aspect of this game, and that paths go above ground level....I think the paths are generally fine in these games once you learn how and are admittedly fiddly, but there are bigger issues with how AI views these paths rather than the paths themselves
Pathing: new engine for Planet Coaster 2 and Planet Zoo 2. Make it more like ground painting, or at least have the ground auto-sculpt to paths better. And give us multiple automatic angles for inclines. That requires engine changes. Backstage: I miss the RCT system of painting where employees clean/work. It did a better job of prioritizing trouble areas with trash. Also, let's please stop having to plop down electric and water systems that affect customers. Pipes and wires exist. Make it more like Cities Skylines.

I'm not one to speculate, especially when there isn't even a hint of news, but i will say that the time for PlanCo 2 is just about right.

When I say I was kid, I was born in 1977. So, I pretty much aged with video games in the home. Atari came out the year I was born, and as I grew up, the video games seemed to age with me. I remember playing Frogger at 2 years old on one of those little toy arcades.
I think it would be great to have some guests in wheelchairs, which would force people to consider accessibility. Understand that the pathing difficulties mean that it’s a lot of hassle to programme but would still be nice…
I think the biggest improvement Planet Coaster needs is a coasterbuilder in which you don't directly place track pieces but lay guides for a track laying robot. First you would draw the track's 2D footprint which we will call the footline.In every situation the robot will only travel above that footline. For the vertical guidance, nodes we will call hoops are placed along the footline. These can only be moved vertically and along the footline.
When activated, the robot will travel along the footline flying through each hoop making a trail of track.
What about Water Rides and Water Parks?
Why not an annoncement during the summer game fest, next june ? It would still be good for a realese at the end of this year 🤞

It's going to be hard to top a game that's near perfect.
I am just going to play devils advocate, cause that is what I do. The 4 meter rule is dumb. Coasters are not smooth, have you ever been on one? Have you ever watched a first person view or a even a camera mounted to the seat view, its not smooth.
All the coasters in the game where people went to extreme lengths to make them smooth look unreal to me. I guess it would be very limiting to what you can do with a track if you only worked in 4 meter increments. But if you use different lengths you get different types of movement. So, when you add it all together you have infinite possibilities. So, again, this is why the 4 meter rule is dumb. You limit your possibilities to obtain something that is not even realistic.
Don't get me started on parking lots, if I wanted to make parking lots I would get Planet Parking Lot. And, to me, a theme park in this game looks just as real with or without a parking lot. And all this does it take away resources you can do in the park.
But the only thing in this video where I was like yes, was one way paths. I still don't understand why that is not in the game yet, or even in Planet Zoo. The que line is already a one path. But I think it has to do with how pathing works. All the main path is considered traversable area, it's all one unit. The que path breaks that traversable area into a one way to the ride. The could do that with a one way path, though so I don't get that.
Things I am not asking for, because I believe they are given and one of the only reasons why new games get made. It will look better and it will run better, and most likely the interface will be a little bit better. Kind of like how Planet Zoo is just a little bit better at all things they do, Planet Coaster will probably take that and add even a little more to make things better. So, I am not asking for that. Because if they are not doing that already, then why are they making a new game.
Park management doesn't have to go that extreme. My favorite park management game was Theme Park, which I had on the 3DO.
What I want in the game. Is what I see when I go to an amusement park. And, they do quite a bit of that already.
1. Arcade
2. Carnival Games
3. Music - Live Music and Performances
4. More Themed Characters, Lot's more!
5. Water Park
6. Mini Golf
7. Pictures, when you first get to the park, and then after you get off rides.
...any many more things similar
Technically what I wish they could do, is what Little Big Planet did. You could make something in LBP and it could be 40 pieces, but once you combined them together to make one thing those 40 pieces would no longer equal 40 and only equal 1 piece.
So, like when you build in Planet Coaster or Planet Zoo, and make these building with 500 plus pieces, you combine it all together to be just 1 piece, which would give a lot of the resources back to the computer, to make even bigger and better parks.
Back to the tracking again, 4 meters is dumb, don't forget it, and anyone telling you otherwise is making you lose so much possibilities in your coaster creations. Because depending on the length of the track you get different types of slopes. Each length has a different slope. Or more at the apex of where the slop begins. 45% is the same no matter the length, but where the slope begins and ends is different depending on the length.

I just wannt frontier to go back to their old scheme of releasing expansions instead of 10 different dlc packs. The way they went with pc and pz really made me loose all hope for the devs. Posting about updates beeing free when in reality game updates are always free, cutting content from the game just to sell it in the deluxe version. Its terrible. And i dont even want to mention the mess that jwe is at the moment :/
Why not release planet coaster 2 and make 2 massive expansions that really bring change to the game?

We have staff pathing in Planet Zoo, and if that's anything to go by and if they put it in a PlanCo 2.......well let's just say it will need improvement
everyone wants a better pathing system but nobody has a practical way to implement one. Seeing stuff like "paintable pathing" whilst completely ignoring the 3d aspect of this game, and that paths go above ground level....I think the paths are generally fine in these games once you learn how and are admittedly fiddly, but there are bigger issues with how AI views these paths rather than the paths themselves
Pathing: new engine for Planet Coaster 2 and Planet Zoo 2. Make it more like ground painting, or at least have the ground auto-sculpt to paths better. And give us multiple automatic angles for inclines. That requires engine changes.
Backstage: I miss the RCT system of painting where employees clean/work. It did a better job of prioritizing trouble areas with trash. Also, let's please stop having to plop down electric and water systems that affect customers. Pipes and wires exist. Make it more like Cities Skylines.
