Now imagine your app calibrated and geo-located on the job site so you can do 3d coordination in the field in core/shell phases before the hvac/piping even go in. Or facilities management augmented reality so you can get data on the device you're servicing in real time. Basically stuff that's either still R&D or was a Hololens only style feature that could be a barrier for entry. Super cool stuff. Thanks for making this video.

That's exactly what I've done for a project with a rather on-site architectural design approach! I find that there are still limitations from a hardware point of view, and some software needs to continue to evolve to make using AR even more practical. But there's no doubt that it can be a great addition to the world of construction and architecture.

Thank you so much. A tutorial would be great that shows how to bring 3d models and PBR-materials into the Apple Vision Pro to visualize a full 3d space that you can walk through or jump to specific locations. I also wonder if 3d lighting is supported? Thx 🙏🏻 a bunch, keep rocking, cheers 🥂

Great video. I have been super impressed by the integrity I’ve seen from the AR/VR enthusiast and experts. You’re excited for the technology advancements and don’t seem to care about any of the politics or financial backing regular tech reviewers seem entangled with.

Owner here. It’s very accurate and hi res- but you do need to calibrate with a 2 minute eye and hand calibration setup. Works best in bright conditions.

What’s the accuracy right now? Within 1/8”? This would cut sleeving and wall layout times significantly if it is accurate enough.

Do you think we could use them for clash detection on site with a coordinated bim model soon?

What format of 3d layouts are compatible with Resolve? I work with autodesk inventor mainly.

Thank you for your feedback, exciting prospects ahead! Personally, I use VR and AR to do what I've called hyper-contextualization. I explain this in a video on my channel youtube.com/@gaelrancarchitecture?si=b10-Wsch6sU1na_g.
In short, it involves using AR to place virtual elements at the location of the project that influence the perception of the place, thus designing architecture with very precise framings on the project site influenced by these virtual elements. I then proceed with a drone scan of the terrain and a 360 photo of the project site to continue doing the same thing but in VR, which offers more options for me to move around in space.
