I avoid associating feeding response when opening enclosure for my snakes by getting them out for a while and letting them explore before feeding them. That way they can still eat in their enclosure where it is more comfortable for them, but they don’t associate the door opening with food.
Obviously more difficult with an animal that has already built that habit, but one of my snakes I got as an older rescue who wasn’t let out of the enclosure for a whole year before I got her so she took some work

This helped me so much with my fear of snakes! They're kinda cute and I care about their well-being! Thank you Maya 🥰

I’ve listened to all 60ish episodes of your conservation cast and then while not working went back and watched them. Very interesting stuff

It would be really interesting to see a video on is what can happen to animals when they are kept as pets. And the behaviors and socialization that is missing. Maybe drawing it on the screen physical detriments?

agreed :) the foxes would be a good example to use as well, since theres lots of ppl out there trying to "domesticate" them and have them as pets

The Sweetwater round up video actually made me cry. What is it with some people and making a happy get together-bring the whole family-carnival thing out of butchering so many animals? I don't think it's anything to be happy about even if it's necessary.

Yo I know 😰 my Dads Vietnamese and I’m from like RURAL rural Florida where I’ve eaten possum and snake but…usually if they’ve been too close to livestock but he always showed and taught me how important they were in their own role of life. Like eating the rats, feeding the owls and how the turtles and snakes didn’t care about each other showing that they’re only dangerous to some, they warn those they don’t mean real danger to. We had indigo snakes that were so gentle you could just pick them up and they wouldn’t bite you, but preferred you didn’t 😅 of course. All animals do. Basically he told me that everything is living its own story even if we don’t understand it, just like people do and we need to have the proper respect for their life. Whether we help it, nurture it or have to kill and eat it we need to understand everything, everything around us has a life it has lived before we came to it and planned to afterwards even if we didn’t understand it.
Then he’d stick a packet of taco sauce or some beef jerky on an ant hill and watch it for an hour or so 😂. I love my dad he’s such a dude. It’s no surprise his sister on to study insects and he has an animal sanctuary/farm.

Not sure if this is a good idea, but have you seen play by play commenters on sports, where they use the telestrator and draw plays and x's and o's over the screen while they explain what the heck just happened? I think a kind of shorts series where you review Alveus clips, but then draw over them to point things out in the background or specific behaviors could be kinda fun. (Maybe not the content you want to make, but this could probably work on human clips as well). It'd almost be like your new voiceover vlog style, but with added drawings on top. [Edit: Oh, actually, could be cool to do something like this with bug hunt or looking at flowers/plants, where a knowledgeable person can identify the bug or something, then pull up a higher quality picture and then maybe point out some of the key distinguishing features.]
This might not work, but a fundraising stream where you take drawing requests from donators in chat and you draw on the screen. Or perhaps even have tiers where the ones drawn on screen tend to get erased and replaced very quickly, but ones drawn on the whiteboard will tend to last longer, and then a really high tier where you draw something on a postcard and mail it? Maybe even switch off and have Connor or lindsay draw some while you're busy with higher dollar requests. Sounds logistically nightmarish. But hey lol.
You could take a page from Pirate Software and literally just live-animate a story you're telling or a point you're making, like a storyboard haha. That seems crazy. But it's a thing that is theoretically possible. Ok, this is getting into far-stretch territory, but perhaps at the end of a collab, you could ask the streamer for one concrete thing that they might change or do when they go home. Then, when they describe it, you encapsulate that into a fairly simple sketch of them and their commitment.
Ok, there you go. As requested, a bunch of bad ideas of how to use the drawing on screens capability for you LOL

god that event, i didnt know people could be so horrible in such large groups
going to an event to mass kill living creatures inhumanely, forcing them into immensely stressful situations before taking their life when their actual danger to humans is that low? population control for some animal species can be important, but to derive joy from it in this way is sick regardless of whether its necessary to protect the ecosystem or not.
its a painful truth but props to maya for raising awareness
