Just realized Domi is a battleship. So I will try this soon but with a Missile/drone Praxis instead.
With a fit that is half the cost you can make 300 mil an hour running C3 sites in a marauder.
WEll one day when you get to Marauders and get Vargur, then you see real risk from l4's, just 3k dps 120km shooting range with autocannons clears l4's super fast and the overall fit price plus hull is same as that navy domi :D

I also fly a golem and can run any level 4 mission in 20 minutes or less using auto-target missiles. Can be done faster if you actively target and match their weaknesses, though. That being said, my first level 4 ship was in fact a Sniper Dominix. All I did was fit for range, jump into the headspace , jump 100k in a direction, and then pick them off slowly from range. 99% of the time, you take zero damage. It is effective and safe, as long as you stay clear of the Gurista Pirates. You can't outrange their missiles.

I think of the Domi as a mini-marauder, in that it has plenty of room for salvage drones/utility highs as well as being a beast in combat. Throw in a frig bay scanner/repairer and you've got a solid do-it-all setup

Back in the day, when Navy Domis were terrible, a cap stable dual T2 LAR Domi ws the way to go. Warp in at zero, aggro the room, kill NPC frigs, Dessies with lights, Cruisers and BCs with Meds, and BS with Heavies. It still works just fine. The Domi is fairly easy to make cap stable with dual T2 LARs and it tanks like a beast.

Sentries really like the native optimal boost from the t1 domi. Also allows you to use bouncers and gardes more efficiently. Even with the size of the drone bay and the new rep bonus I’d stick with the original domi. I don’t blame you for wanting the use the navy domi though

You've tipped the balance on which BS to purchase. I returned a few weeks ago. Was out of the game for over 5 years. I started to train into drones fairly deep before I left, though for a long while in the beginning I was Caldari focused and have a fair amount in shields and missiles, then switched to Gallente. If a game features drones or fighters I've always enjoyed going that route. I had no idea you could field fighters (Gecos) in a drone bay! Awesome, heading to purchase Gecos :) I do have Caldari BS at 4 with cruise missile's 5 so I was close to going the Raven route, too, but I have to decide and its the Dominix for me. 5 days to Gallente BS 4. Ouch just looked. Drone interfacing V - 23 days, Leadership V - 5 days. Something to look forward to in the new year. Thanks again for the excellent material!

I remember the first time I saw a Gecko. I was jumping from system to system searching for lost drones (pre yellow warning "You're leaving your drones behind"). Tech I drones were a dime a dozen, a few T2s... Until the Gecko. My eyes bugged out of my head when I looked at market value.
got two recommendations 1) swap your damage control for a reactive hardener, damcon "looks" amazing on the stat sheet but its really only good for structure tanks like an ess blaster gnosis. the damcon gives 15%s for armor and a reactive starts at 15%s as well but the reactive will switch its resists based on what your taking the most dmg from making it great for ratting in your situation where you could go into a mission fighting a totally different pirate. all you have to do is stop cycling it after the mission and restart it to reset the 15%s. 2) as far as drones goes i'd recommend you bring heavy sets of augmented racial drones over gekos. gekos do omni dmg which is bad for ratting but great for pvp, your applied dps to rats will be better with augments or even T2s if using the correct racial drone

I LOVE the Dominix. It's the first BS I ever flew and as someone who favors using drones, it is right in my wheelhouse.

I loved the Dominix, ever since I first joined the game, I sat in awe as a massive ship looked like it was being attacked, it was surrounded by angry bee's 15 of them, but since then the ship has had a few changes, the worst is the latest rework. Why CCP cannot just leave older ships as they were, bring in new ones yes, but removing role bonuses and making them all vanilla ruins the game for me.
A regular Domi can be given a pure T2 fit (or even high Meta), and do sniper sentries & 3 425’s (Wardens are the best) at over 700 DPS well beyond 100 km. Just make sure to fit some drone and turret tracking so you can easily instapop those frigates zooming your way. It’s all about keeping your sentries safe and the MJD ready to go. The rest is easy.
I like to use faction mods and ded mods depending on the ship hull, I say if the module is 10% or less the value of the hull it's fine I'll use the faction one. Because you might as well do it to increase survival chances and not lose the ship if the value is there

Best is subjective. I think best bang for the buck is still the Ishtar. It's not the min/max king anymore but it's still brain-dead simple to use with almost no risk to the player. They are pretty cheap ships, you can tank it so no L4 could break it but you don't need to with Sentries and an MJD. I just did the Amarr epic arc in an Ishtar with ease. Same old tactic of MJD to a spot, drop sentries, kill everything. If anything gets close scoop drones and MJD to a new spot. Plus it's a lot faster to travel with than a Marauder. Less of a gank target too.

I used a Panther passive shield fit with artillery and sentry drones. Not smart enough to use a MJD, I was flying manually, with an MWD. Good fun, but man it sucked. Almost lost that poor ship in most mission. - Main lvl 4 ship is a Vargur, I just love flying weird things occasionally.

Navi Domi isn't a simple upgrade from standard Domi. You do loose significant bonuses:
10% bonus to Drone hitpoints and damage
7.5% bonus to Drone optimal range and tracking speed
vs
10% bonus to Drone hitpoints, damage and tracking
7.5% bonus to Large Hybrid Turret damage
7.5% bonus to Armor Repairer amount
make the Navy version less apt at being a sentry sniper. The base domi has 30% more range with IV skill, which is very significant, basicly making distance your tank. ND fights closer, benefits from LAR bonus for active tank. I haven't played with it, so I can't comment much. I think it could face-tank better than the Domi, exporing possible blaster fits.
The real upgrade from the Domi (and missile boats, such as the Raven) is the Rattlesnake. Cruisers + Sentries or Torpedoes + Heavies, you can do both on the same hull.

I solo level 4s in a Ferox. Takes a while but it gets the job done… eventually. Naga is faster at killing if you know you’ll be at long range. Haven’t made it to BS yet.

I found that a max DPS blaster kronos gets through level 4s the fastest... I also fit a couple of good armer repairers and bring an armor repair boost to take if I get dropped on... Welcome to the party and say hello to my little friends... Lol...

Best ship I have used for level 4s is a Kronos. Just silly easy once you have the skills. I prefer long range sniper for extra easy mode, but you can get away with a short range build if you want to challenge your tankyness.

I still think a 1.5 to 2 B ISK Paladin fit runs faster, harder, better, longer for cheaper on Level 4 missions. Best thing is tech 1 laser crystals never get used and reload is 0 seconds.

Imo, whe you are approaching $2B on a dominix, you should just get a rattlesnake instead. Nearly twice the DPS for the same money.

Would the subverted medium be better than the geckos? not sure you can use 5 i know the rorqual can but that is a capital ship, those drones are also omni damage, and expensive as heck.

I'm a year late but I felt like posting. Why does everyone insist on using a MJD on Marauders? They're designed to bastion.
you can use the MJD to get away from gankers and mobs easily, then re-bastion up!
I'm doing very well with navy drake active shield 🛡in level 4. Barely lose health and dishing nearly 1k dps. I love it.

I really like your videos, and I have a similar style, (except I use a Rattlesnake/Noctis) for Lvl 4s. I do question the use of the MTUs. I'm one of those guys that uses combat scanners to hunt down MTU's and destroy/salvage them when the owner isn't around. A cloaked Gnosis with combat scanners makes is almost unfair. Give it a try sometime, love to see how it suits you.

Um not sure you know this even though it seems you have been playing a while and you might not see this with it being an older video but not all missiles do explosive damage, like missiles can do any damage type based on the missile, for example the sansha tend to fire em missiles, guristas tend to fire kinetic missiles, angels tend to fire explosive etc.

I decided to drop the AB and one gun for another drone link and targetting. It lets me lock and the Wardens shoot out to 129k instead of just 105k. A number of targets in my missions could strt hitting me at 100k especially with missiles so it gave me the extra untouchable range and it was just annoying if I jumped 107km away from a slow BS to wait for it to get in range. I leave the targetting boost unscripted so it locks frigates faster and then turn it off once everything is in range. Most of the web/disrupt/ect. is from the frigates so I hate them above their damage value.

The best is paladin with mwd. Don't bother collecting anything, just go in, nuke everything from any range, and move on.
Just get a T2 fitted marauder, faster and cheaper, also there’s no dollars in Eve.

Or get a Mach and blitz it if you want to optimize things. But its a more important thing you can do, use the ship you have most fun flying.

Why wouldnt you fit to the mission? yes an omni can be nice but ive seen plenty die in missions with an omni that had they fit for the mission they wouldnt have.
