@@yoyoma4424 hey thanks! I have this video that explains a little about groove, but can focus more on this in future house videos :) ua-cam.com/video/-7-1OvzG1jc/v-deo.htmlsi=stz-hRDImR211yzo
I finished this 10:55-long step-by-step tutorial in about 4 hours! I've been trying to learn Ableton from an online course for a while. I had learned topics like 'Operator, Drum Rack, Simpler, Automation' piece by piece, but for the first time, thanks to this video, I learned how to use them all together. I can't thank you enough!
@@khartbeatsI finally finished it! I switched to another project for a while but finally finished it and uploaded it to youtube last night. I kinda owe it all to you so thankyou K!!
Thanks so much! I used simpler…it’s so great for chopping perc loops, but I don’t see many people doing it. Slicing to a new drum rack is great for this, too 😁
Awesome tutorial. 1 year ago I found a song "Shay Lia - Cherish" that is also produced by Kaytranada, and this track is just a masterpiece, so deep and atmospheric. This man is a real maestro.
best tutorial! good explanation of all the main elements. Also dived with ease into chords and parallels. You are way better than all these guys! Thank you
I use FL studio but I still loved the whole video because you do such a good job at explaining musical concepts that can easily be transferred to any DAW
Congratz on your video. That's the first one of you I've seen and I really appreciate the way you do it. New sub and for sure going to watch a lot more. Keep it going!
Incredible how you sprinkled in some music theory and sound design knowledge along with the tutorial. Are there any sample packs or chord packs you'd recommend for newer producers? I will be checking out more of your content!
Thanks so much! I mostly dig through Splice for my samples...I don't usually buy whole packs, but kind of choose individual sounds I like based on the track I'm creating at the moment. Samples from Mars has some really nice drums to choose from.
Your videos are awesome! Do you have any advice for learning these "music theory hacks", or just more about music theory for production purposes? I know the basics from playing instruments throughout my life, but struggle to find what key to use when/what combination of chords or notes will produce the specific mood I'm looking for.
Thanks so much! Best advice is to lay down a general chord progression and then tweak the individual notes of each chord from there. I don’t usually have the exact extended chords in my head to start, but just tweak them until they sound nice together. Learning what certain chords can make you “feel” can also be helpful. Like V chords or dominant chords create tension, suspended chords can create a feeling of being unresolved or root chords feel like home. I tend to be a little nerdy with it, but being creative will take you a long way 🙂
Very stylish and catchy beat you got here! Is there any chance i can download this project session? Just started to learn ableton and still have some issues with it and your project would be very helpful in learning
Thank you so much, this is an incredible tutorial! For the initial chord creation, it looks like you used something from Analog Lab .. do you have any recommendations for stock instruments in Ableton (or free plugins) with a similar sound?
Hey, thanks so much! I’d say Ableton’s Electric can do something similar. Maybe add some chorus and a little bit of pitch drift and it would sound pretty good! Hope that helps.
Thanks! I don’t think I added any more effects, but I most likely did sidechain it. I usually do a small amount on more melodic bass lines like this one.
Let me know what you want to see in future videos!
just became a new subscriber. I love your channel! super cool! I would love a video on house music hats ?

Not bad at all! 👏🏼the claps are a little too rushed/early to me to get the Kaytra groove but it's overall sounds like him :)
Fair observation on the claps. Thanks for checking it out 🙂
incredible tutorial! this is the first of your videos that ive seen! about to check out some more!
Thanks so much! Hope you find some others that are helpful, too 🙂
Another amazing video! I need to learn more about simpler or sampler(?) and how you sliced up the percussion like that so easily.

Thanks so much!
Great great job, thank you so much for your work! Subscribed.

this has been great thanks! I was wondering how you programmed the first synth layer?
Thanks! I think that one was more like a mellow electric piano sound from Analog Lab.
Inspiring! Now I want to tinker with Operator
Thanks! And yeah, Operator is incredibly powerful!
Really good, keep it going
Definitely, thanks!
Unreal
I love this!
Thanks so much!
Fantastic!!!!! Thank you. My bass sounds...not as plucky as yours...I followed what you did..did you add a side chain by any chance?
or additional effects?

hi its no funky house
What would you call this?
Easy to follow, but I did have a little music theory knowledge if I was a pure beginner wouldn’t be as useful
Yeah, these are geared more towards people who have a bit of theory and DAW experience. Glad it was useful for you. Thanks!
