Condensation: I store around 5k books in 2 containers with the same spray on insulation. No issues with damp providing you follow these rules which I learned from experience. 1 never take damp stuff in there. 2 get a plastic curtain up across the door so when it rains it doesn't blow in. 3 get a few chemical dehumidifiers to take out any trapped damp air. 4 watch out for cold nights near 0 degrees followed by a milder day. When you open the doors the warm air goes into the container and condenses on the cold book surfaces. This is another good reason to have a plastic curtain. 5 carry a towel in the car and dry the door before closing if it is raining. I never have a problem now with any damp as long as I do those things, books are lovely and dry.
Little SKU tip, not sure if it'll apply to you as we use this in the warehouse at work on scale. But use double letters instead of singles. So instead of A, B, C etc use AA, AB, AC etc that way if you have multiple locations, storage, loft, stock room each location can have its own code and your not sharing the same system. Storage could be AA onwards locations, loft BA locations and so on. It's also handy as as you grow its easy to outgrow the alphabet and a pain to put a new one in place or re-SKU all the old locations
@SteveSpendsaPenny it probably is a little overkill, but it's definitely worth planning that in now while you are SKU'ing everything up. At work we changed the SKU locations over to the AA system and it was a total nightmare. Took months of just daily physical and system location changes. If you have the time and might possibly have more than one location I highly recommend starting it and saving yourself a nightmare down the line

Thanks for the tips! 😊 I was thinking about getting some of those chemical dehumidifier’s just in case but so far it seems ok. 🤞🏻
Congratulations Steve, looks like a great space to expand into. Wishing you all the best. Do you cross list books to Amazon?
Thank you! No I’m not using Amazon anymore. I’m not a big fan of theirs for many reasons really.
Wow Steve great progress. Long way form your little room. Hope this space does you well. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Yes it feels like a long way from there. 😊
Well done steve, hope all goes well been nice watching your journey so far
Thank you 😊
Was expecting extensive Rack/shelf building before moving in :-) best of luck with the expansion
Hopefully got more shelving coming soon which should really help. Thank you 😊

Good idea, thank you. I might use that just in case I ever need to get another storage container at some point. 😊👍🏻

@@ruff_house I don’t think it will hurt to do it now, just in case I manage to move into a warehouse one day! 😊
You could use that new shelf as a ‘stock in’ next to the door or to separate the books you’re taken off eBay to bundle.
That’s not a bad idea, thank you 😊
It looks nice and dry. Good Luck
So far so good! 🤞🏻
Great stuff mate, onwards and upwards hey
Thank you 😊👍🏻
You might be able to hang things from the ceiling
Possibly but not totally sure if that would work. Will bear it in mind though.
Freecycle always has bookcases btw
Good to know! I always forget about Freecycle but I’ll try and remember to keep an eye out 👍🏻
Nice one, onwards and upwards as they say.
Let’s hope so! 👍🏻
