when you re-seal for "cooking" do you re-seal it entirely or leave an opening for venting?

i've tried a couple omeals on two kayak trips last year and this year - both meals were tasty, but so incredibly small that i literally had to heat up another meal for my son and i to share. these meals are just incredibly small in portion, making it no where worth the high $ for it in my opinion. both tasted good, but you definitely get cheated on portions and they just don't cut it after a day of hiking or kayaking for even my 90lb/13 yr old son, much less a normal sized adult. the fact they've made a handful of videos on 'portion hacks' is proof even they know they are skimping on portions. another thing about this company ... i wanted to order 4 meals that came to around $31, and the website was forcing me to use next day shipping for over $45, no other shipping method, and i live in a major metro area. big thumbs down on this company, maybe they change some things

I have had a few of these. Pretty heavy for the amount of calories - and more expensive than some of the other brands where boil water. The few I have had taste good but I do recall one of them not so much. For the same weight, I'd rather go with MREs as they have other items to supplement the main meal and can be broken out and excess packaging removed.
