I agree. When people sang these songs they meant every word from the bottom of their hearts and souls. This music got "US' through so much struggle and trauma. "If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be?" This is what we need bought back into the churches regularly! I have no problem with the new music, heck i even sing and play it, but this is where it started, this is what got us through and we must continue to lean on these old songs and hymns.
Testimony was when all the mama's in church knew how to get in touch with God you knew you was healed in No time. We were the only Puerto Rican family in a black church but everything we learn was from the old songs ,prayer and faith. New songs are good for some people and smoke machines with lights but if there's no anointing it's just a show.
Been having a bad week with my anxiety and I knew if I could just find the gospel I loved in the Baptist Church and the grand old COGIC I would feel better. The more I'm singing the better I'm feeling. We need to hang on to the hand of Jesus in 2020. We won't make it without Him.

I got up at 6am and just needed to feel close to God, so I just searched old school gospel and this came up. By the second song I was in tears. I remember being 4 or 5 years old and hearing my granny sing these while praying in the other room. These old hymns just help heal my entire soul. Sidenote: it tickles me that 2k people took the time to dislike this video. People are soooooo funny. I just chuckle when I see the dislikes. God bless allllllllll 2k of them. Lol.🤣😂

Many of the old songs were code language. They helped the slaves foment escape and rebellion. Marriage and reading were once illegal. All this was dealt with in song.

I believe I misunderstood in that while hindsight is 20/20, apparently 20/20 comes AFTER hindsight...... predicate ADJ rather than N. Anyway, I hope our eyes were open enough to take in every bit of hindsight so that we MAY SEE 20/20 this year. I gotta tell ya tho, I am STILL runnin across more bits of the hindsight.. ..... I agree. When people sang these songs they meant every word from the bottom of their hearts and souls. This music got "US' through so much struggle and trauma. "If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be?" He kept my enemies away, he let the sun shine through a cloudy day" I remember singing this song as a child in church and I still sing it today as an adult, because the words are real and they get you thru. No music moves me like old school gospel music. It truly touches my spirit.

This is what we need bought back into the churches regularly! I have no problem with the new music, heck i even sing and play it, but this is where it started, this is what got us through and we must continue to lean on these old songs and hymns.
Testimony was when all the mama's in church knew how to get in touch with God you knew you was healed in No time. We were the only Puerto Rican family in a black church but everything we learn was from the old songs ,prayer and faith. New songs are good for some people and smoke machines with lights but if there's no anointing it's just a show.

I got up at 6am and just needed to feel close to God, so I just searched old school gospel and this came up. By the second song I was in tears. I remember being 4 or 5 years old and hearing my granny sing these while praying in the other room. These old hymns just help heal my entire soul. Sidenote: it tickles me that 2k people took the time to dislike this video. People are soooooo funny. I just chuckle when I see the dislikes. God bless allllllllll 2k of them. Lol.🤣😂

IDK about y'all, but 2020 was suppose to be the hindsight year..... I believe I misunderstood in that while hindsight is 20/20, apparently 20/20 comes AFTER hindsight...... predicate ADJ rather than N.
Anyway, I hope our eyes were open enough to take in every bit of hindsight so that we MAY SEE 20/20 this year. I gotta tell ya tho, I am STILL runnin across more bits of the hindsight.. .....
