- Back when she was a university student, Sharon Stone lived the life of a starving artist, selling her paintings for $25 apiece. Today, the Oscar-nominated actress has returned to her love of painting, with her works now selling in the tens of thousands. She has had two gallery shows in the U.S., with a third about to open in Berlin. Correspondent Lee Cowan visits Stone at her Los Angeles studio and watches her create a new work.

She takes the food out of real artists mouths, she's part of the merchandise and gimmick that's killed visual art the last 35 years. She's not a visual artist, she's another entertainer trying to cash in. Makes me sick.
Yes but she is also just another person like any other human TRYING !? If she wants to do this & if her art = beautiful enough… She deserves a chance in every turn in her life she wants to make!?? Besides ; What = A REAL Artist ?

Inspirational! Beautiful work!! I just started painting a few years ago after going to one sip n paint and I haven’t stopped since. I’m a nurse of 41 years, I am 60 years “young” and I am going g with it! I learn something new every time I paint and I’m in love with it!! We are NEVER just “one thing” in life. We are anything and everything. ☺️.
Ohmygosh, I had no idea that Sharon is a truly talented artist! I love her style and philosophy. If I were rich, I would decorate my home with every one of her paintings!

I am MORE than elated for Ms. Stone; her work, her recovery, her Art... LOVE her work - BIG Fan! Yes, it is amazing what came out of the pandemic for many of us. I, too, became a "Narrative Collage Architect of Surreal Imagery"... never have I ever done any traditional form of 'art' before. I believe there is an Artist in ALL of us, but as she stated, "We have to get out of our own way!" Ms. Stone's Art creations are REMARKABLE!

More power to her. I started painting after I retired because I had the time. Painting is so fun especially if you just let go and create. You never know what you are going to see and I find it very satisfying.
From doodling I am facing my ocd and perfectionism head on. Lines are crooked and shapes are lopsided. I hate it but I am learning to be ok with it. It is a great way to let go and think about composition and themes. Beats browsing on shopping sites and buying things I don’t need.

What a neat lady. I'm really not up to date on movie stars of even the past 30 years too much, I'm more of an old classic Hollywood guy, but I've always liked Sharon Stone, and I really enjoyed her memoir. Her artwork is beautiful. I don't paint, I don't have the tenacity for it, but I do draw and create and even sell some, though for pennies compared to what Miss Stone gets, but if I did not have a creative outlet, I don't know how I would survive. To me, creativity is all there is, whether it's writing or drawing or painting or cooking or whatever your passion is. I'm so happy she's now doing well. My health has been terrible the last 20 years from post-polio syndrome, but drawing and writing keep me going. I'm so grateful.

Admire SS is so authentic; allowing herself to be filmed as she probably looks alone when she paints. How did she escape the Holiywood sick club? Maybe her brush with death and serious illness. Yes. I watched an interview with her and she said when she got ill, everyone in Hollywood turned their back and moved on. That HAD to impact her and make her connect with herself and reality.

I love your spirit and your formidable intellect and passion, Sharon Stone. Your comments late in segment hit so close to home, regarding letting a piece propel the creative process, the life force expressed in that which we create. I create art from foraged forest items, and where I live, I’m blessed to have a lot of Nisenan Manzanita trees. They have a unique quality of their natural composition almost always appearing to me like some variety of animal. I’ve said many times, “I think this one wants to be…(fill in the blank)”, and I am 100% with you about this profound aspect of art creation. Everything in our world has distinct and myriad components that are the same, and only dna tells the tale of what variation of star dust a thing becomes. Yet, stardust we are, as is your canvas allowing creation into its pores, and my length of manzanita, wanting beyond measure to become something else. Art is miraculous and yours is lovely. Congratulations on your success.

Sharon Stone is a genius. It's ridiculous there are no good roles or writing for our wonderful actresses. Such a loss! I just listened to her interview with Jerry. She is a Nobel peace prize winner and he won the Pulitzer. It was such a treat! I'm saddened by what her then husband did and did not do. Left her on the floor for three days bleeding out. Such a survivor and now she is strong for others! Her painting is amazing among her many gifts and talents. ❤ Go, Sharon!
