Interesting -- those look pretty much identical to me! And if anything, the white Ryu pants look to have the bigger ball joint, so I'd expect it to be tighter at the waist rather than looser. I think if one wanted brown gloves for Ryu, it'd ultimately be easier to just throw some paint on the ones he has. 😅
Absolutely Wes, painting the gloves brown would work - especially since the joint section is unpainted so the risk of paint rub would be minimal. It's interesting how us collectors are quick to assume parts have been reused on new figures when it's not the case. Another example is McFarlane Action Comics #1000 Superman compared to the Superman that came with Atomic Skull, seems like a straight repaint but the head, neck/chest section, and dumbbell joint between them are all new (I discovered that while trying to swap heads)

Why go through all that trouble??? Wouldn't it have been easier to swap the arms at the biceps?
