This is my favourite Woody Allen film. There is something very unique about it, and I think he also found the right balance between funny and serious.
I watched and rewatched this on cable in 1980 as a 16 yr old boy from Hawaii. I feel like I got the humor and loved how NYC looked. And I’ve been in NYC for 28 years now. Great channel btw.
A wonderful, funny, poetic, and brilliant masterpiece!
That's really Truman Capote?! Seriously? How did I not know this until now?

Christopher Walken played Annie Hall's brother... no mention of that.
This was the point where I really disliked alvy. He was so rude and condescending. Reminds of today’s “intellectual elites.”
Wow! Sigourney Weaver! I didn't know!
Maestro 🙌👏👏👏
What is the name of the song that starts playing at the beginning of the video?

@Solar-Encoded Damn I forgot Stardust Memories. I'll swap Midnight in Paris in favor of it.
@Randy White Love that flick, it's 11-15 range for me. That's a testament to how many good films he's made.
Great list! Radio Days is so charming!
Ruth Morley, costume designer for Annie Hall is the one who designed the look for the character. Morley and Keaton discussed how the character would look but it was Morley who designed the whole thing. When the film became a hit and the clothes started a fashion trend anyone who worked or contributed to the wardrobe tried to take credit.
THERE WAS A SCREEN CUT WHERE THE 3 CHARACTERS WENT DOWN THE 7 LEVELS OF HELL IN A SIDEWALK DELIVERY ELEVATOR..
Wasn’t that Dante idea used in mighty Aphrodite or maybe deconstructing Harry??.. can’t remember which
Blue Jasmine is an excellent Woody Allen movie.
Agreed. Love that one.
Catherine Nicholls it’s great but so derivative of streetcar named desire that it puts me off a bit . Crimes and misdemeanours snd Hannah for me :)
What’s the song called used in this video?
Brooke Shields at 1:22
The ending to "Annie Hall" is way too sad...I usually watch "Manhattan Murder Mystery" right after to get my Annie Hall meta-narrative going :D min 4:46 Wait hold up....Lucas AND Spielberg nominated for best director?
Yes, star wars and close encouters, respectively.
i thought Sharon Stone appeared as girl on the train ... or was that another Woody Allen movie
That was from his film „Stardust Memories“.
"widely considered his best film" -- Yes it is, and I completely disagree. Hannah and Her Sisters is FAR more substantive and better (IMHO his best). Annie Hall would not make my short list of Allen favorites, but I know I'm in the minority (which is fine).
I think a lot of real fans would agree with you. I would agree with you. The problem is, after Annie Hall, no one can agree what comes next.
Other Allen films I think highly of are Crimes and Misdemeanors, Manhattan Murder Mystery, and Stardust Memories. Play It Again Sam had some hilarious moments.
Hop I love Husbands and wives better. And, of course Sleepers.
Hop amen ! Or crimes and misdemeanors
