Thank you. It’s coming on very slowly - one day at a time. 👍🏼

Thanks. I’ve been needing the operation for quite a while. The scar is actually fading compared to what it was.

Love a topic as dull as this. I don't think I've come across a product that does a better job than just good ol' 80w90 gear oil. I don't really clean the chain beyond a "deluxe wipe" with a rag I've sprayed with degreaser to remove surface gunk. Just the act of applying gear oil with an old toothbrush helps shift some grime which you then wipe away after application. After riding on wet, salty roads I get similar orange spots on the rollers but plates stay black and gunky.

Ha ha. Yes, there are some interesting topics that catch the imagination despite them seeming to be much.
Over the years I’ve tried all sorts too of chain lubes; even toothbrush and EP90 gearbox oil back in the 1980’s on my RD250E.

Thanks for your video , hope you're knee is better now and you're out on the bike enjoying it,, i have tried various chain lubes over the years and still struggle to find a decent on so i will check out the wd40 you recommend..thanks again for the tip, on another note how are the avon tyres holding up,?.,I'm looking for tyres so any tips or recomdations would be great..many thanks. Paul.

Hi Paul, the knee is coming on well - thanks for asking. I still use the WD40 chain wax and love it. As for the Avon Spirit ST; the rear still has a good amount of tread after 6500 miles. The front will probably need replacing within the next 700 miles as it's wearing down on the sides. The handling is still very good although there is now some tracking over white lines and poor road surfaces.

@teabrake2562 Good to hear you're on the mend and the wd40 and bike tyres are doing well, many thanks again for the video, tyres have certainly changed alot in the time I been riding with different compounds and tyre construction, so many thanks again and keep up the great videos, I look forward to seeing more of them. Paul.

Hi Paul, thank you for the positive comments. I am going to produce a very short video in the next week about the tyres - basically, some info and my riding style that'll hopefully be useful to others.

@teabrake2562 many thanks for you nice replies, that sounds great about the video you are doing, I got my tyres today so they are inside waiting for my chain and sprockets and clutch jet to turn up to get fitted by the garage at the end of the month., I can't wait.. mind you those tyres are the most I ever spent on tyres ever.

@@paul8161Hi Paul, I’ve just posted a video on my own chain clean and lube routine.
I know what you mean about tyres…and my wife has the audacity to complain about new front tyres for the car every 2-3 years. And they’re so cheap by comparison.

      Thanks for the comment.
When clean it I take it right back to the metal before adding the chain wax.
Once I’ve more flexibility in the knee I’ll put up a video of my clean & lube process.
It’ll probably seem a bit over the top to some though.

@@teabrake2562 yeah a chain and both sprockets is only £30 for my little mt so I don't really bother cleaning it just chain lube 😅 hope your on the road again soon buddy although the weather were having your best in the house with the feet up!
