Fun fact:He is a pitcher.
yes🤣👍🏻✨
love your comment. 😄
And he is in rehab
Is there a chance he will pitch this season?
Alot of good pitchers are out from injuries right now including Gerrit Cole, but unlike them Ohtani can still bat and leading the majors in batting average hitting .365
He’s not a pitcher. He’s a unicorn that can pitch 102mph and hit 500ft home runs.
A pitcher in rehab is leading the Major League Baseball in Hits, Runs, Doubles, Batting Avg, Total Bases, Slugging and OPS.
Well said!

Amazing
@@spudcoconutyeah so far 0.00 ERA!
Remember, he is still recovering from Tommy John surgery. Insane!
I think it wasn't actually a tommy John but either way his hitting has always excelled when his pitching was struggling. Now he can't pitch at all so his hitting is just. I can't wait till June, he's always a freak of an athlete during June.
Ohtani eats Tommy John surgeries for breakfast! 😄
Crazy it's only been 7 months since his surgery was completed
The insane thing is that he had his arm break down on him right after his first career shutout. He was pitching so well before his arm gave, it was amazing.
So, ohtani will not pitching anymore ?
I'm still new in baseball
Everyone, don’t forget that this man, who hit this crazy bullet-like gigantic home run, is a pitcher in rehabilitation aiming to return next season.
He'll be 100% pitcher in 2026 if everything goes well in 2025.
fwiw he has not even pitched 1/2 as many innings as Babe Ruth did .... Ohtani may never pitch full time again
George H Ruth… 1,221 innings 2.28 ERA 10 HRs allowed 94-46 .671 win% (107 complete games!)
Shohei Ohtani..…..482 innings 3.01 ERA 53 HRs allowed 38-19 .667 win%

Wow awesome
We're all jealous!
honestly it looked like the seats stopped it. lol. crushed.
So cool to see
My dream is to watch Shohei live one day. So awesome you got to experience that 👏👏👏
Even if I get dementia in the future, just hearing the word "Ohtani" will bring back my memory.

So if you get gang rap ed in the butt hoo hearding the name Shohei Ohtani would bring you to a happy place?

The crack of that bat is probably still reverberating around DC somewhere. Wow that was loud.
1:16 BAM!!! 😮
Yeah, that sound is special. It's a loud and deep crack when he energizes the bat and the bat whacks the ball at full force.

@@user-ie7ot4yr6gpoor Lux!!! I want him to start hitting so he can be happy. Must be really frustrating!!!

Do you see all the people with their faces in the phone instead of watching him bat??
I love how mookie and rojas are looking at the Statcast data. Mookies like “he hit THAT 450 feet!????”
Anyone else keep replaying at 1:15 to hear the crazy bat sound on Ohtani's homer?🤩
Sounded like a shotgun
It was great
Hardest hit by a Dodger since the Statcast era and by any player this season. Leads the league in BA, hits, slugging %, and OPS. All this from a pitcher. Ohtani is from another stratosphere.
Amazing. He gets the biggest sports contract in history (by a mile) and doesn't miss a beat. I hope every other athlete who pushes for a monster contract takes note - if you get paid like a superstar, play like a superstar.
A pitcher on rehab
I don’t believe unicorn, until now
Showtime Shohei
@@jamesrawlins735No, Ohtani only gets paid 2m every season in 10 years. He will get 98m every yr fr 2035 to 2045, yet the money will be depreciated under one-tenth of the value of today by the time he finishes receiving all his money. So Ohtani is almost paying NOTHING in order trying win more championship rings since it's Ohtani himself proposed to all 3 teams (Dodgers, Giants, & Jays) about this 97% deferral contract before choosing Dodgers. Besides, Ohtani brought in over numerous new Japanese sponsors contracts to Dodgers excluding many other companies were attracted to sign new ad contracts at Dodgers stadium. In addition, Shohei jerseys and goods are making top sales in MLB. Ohtani's presence even pushes ticket sales in all ballparks Ohtani going to visit, not only raising crazy ticket prices in Dodgers stadium. Dodgers is expected to only taking 3 yrs to earn a billion on Ohtani economic effects.
Everyone loves this guy. He wasn't even in Dodger stadium, but I can hear everybody is celebrating
Sound like Dodger stadium, everyone was excited to see Shohei hit the HR.
It was also Japanese Heritage night at Nats Park.
It’s the hair.
Maybe 450 ft homer 118 one of fastest homer so far
Every stadium he goes to has the same reception if he hits a HR.
He belongs to the SPORTS 💪
"Ohtani" - a new word in the English lexicon for a person who bats and pitches at the highest level.
But I don't think there will be someone doing an Ohtani so soon, two ways maybe, it's hard to be as good. Pure talent and discipline.
And gambles.
the sound from the bat sounds like a shotgun blast
1:15 wow that sound off his bat sounds like a cannon!😱
That ball was hit so hard it made the guy who caught it do a *_Dragon Ball Z Fusion technique_*.
😆
I saw that 🤣

he did the dodgers celebration lol
thats the celebration the players do this year for a base hit. i believe it is the fusion dance!
i think its failed fusion lol
Hes after surgery. The potential to be the home run king if he pitches, would be the triple crown, if doesn't pitch. His focus changes every year, as if he enjoys winning all the titles. There will definitely be a season in a few years when he will be aiming for Cy Young.
I wanna see him win cy young and triple crown in the same year. Cycle hit and no hitter in the same game. Want him to do insanely good on world series games, and do a closer on the last inning of last game to become the world series champion😂. Am I asking too much here?
彼はそれを実現するだろう
2 years ago, shohei ohtani did something that will never be done again except by him. He got fourth place in the cy Young award voting, and second place in the MVP.
He threw nearly 170 innings on the mound at the same time he was hitting 35 home runs. This guy is a once in a century talent.

Yes, but more than once in a generation talent. Once in the last hundred years.
There actually has never been a player like shohei to be honest. Those players you can think of from the past couldn’t even tie shohei’s laces. The level is ginormous
Lebron
@@ayv- basketball is not a specialized sport. So he don’t belong in this table. Imagine Deon sanders who could throw 40 TD in a season as QB. That’s the level of difficulty Shohei is performing at.
Dude also throws a casual 100mph. Absolute the best we will ever see in our lifetime
I think it’s going to be the opposite. I think you will see a lot of Ohtanis in 10 years. MLB and Us coaches duped people into thinking two way play was impossible. Now sports science has proved that two way play helps make better athletes, pitching helps batting and Vice versa. It’s like Math helping Physics. Just like Steph Curry changed basketball. Look at the game now, a ton of basketball players shooting 40-45% 3 pointers. 20 years ago people said you can never win a game by shooting threes. I will bet you will have teams in 10 years with position players pitch 1-2 innings and absolutely dominate the other teams.
@@rupaabhi Playing as a two-way baseball player and achieving remarkable results, as Otani does, is a completely different story from the basketball analogy. There are probably a fair number of people who love baseball and can practice as much as Ohtani, as long as they meet the prerequisites of being blessed with the same physique as Ohtani. However, in order to achieve results on a level similar to Otani's, it is necessary to have humility and mental strength from an early age, and to maintain this for a long time, which is extremely difficult.
@@rupaabhi There are almost no people who can play baseball as a two-way player and achieve remarkable results, as Otani does, who can spend almost everything, including his private time, just doing what he loves the most. . When many people have money, they want to spend it on their own desires. To begin with, you need an average of 10 hours a day just to sleep. Furthermore, even after you have enough money, you need to resist all temptations, including entertainment, luxurious meals, and women, and continue to live only for the things you like the most.
@@rupaabhi ~ they've had lots of players try this in the minor leagues and in college baseball but all of them failed. No one even came close to being great at either position while trying to do both at the same time.
@@rupaabhi Aiming to succeed as a two-way player is financially risky for young people
So, if there is anyone who can accomplish this, I think it would be someone who was financially blessed from birth, such as Ohtani's son or Trout's son. And there are few such people.
