But the significance of it to the state of South Carolina and the reason why the University adopted it as their mascot is because of a famous Revolutionary War general from SC named Thomas Sumter who was nicknamed "The Fighting Gamecock." In fact, a lot of college football team nicknames are more historically-rooted than they might appear on the surface. The LSU Tigers are another example, actually. They're named after the "Louisiana Tigers" of the Confederacy.

I love upsets and frankly dispise the LSU coach Les Miles from his days as the Notre Dame coach. Yes, I will hold a grudge until the day one of us dies. Love the flag. Genius idea. Went to school at UCLA and they got hammered at home yesterday by lightly regarded Univ of Indiana. We looked terrible.and have not reason to get excited about our team this year. Keep up the good work on this channel. and let get this channel hot again. Your reactions are very entertaining and you have become quite knowledgable about the game.

The officiating in this game was genuinely the worst and most one-sided I have ever seen while watching a CFB game
