Almost anything from LSU 2019 season is good to watch, especially the Alabama game. It was a dream season for the Tigers and they've been struggling since then. Saturday was a confidence boosting win for sure. Things are definitely lookin up for them.
That's more for people who watched the season and know the context. Just as pure insane highlights theyre not that crazy. The best is Leonard Fournette vs Ole Miss
I know a British guy who studied at LSU during a study abroad program. He got to experience LSU football in person and loved it. He’s now a tv presenter for one of the BBC networks . His name is Matt Graveling.
Graduated from LSU and was at this game over the weekend. The crowd noise registered twice on the campus seismograph in the geology building. Easily one of the best games I’ve ever been to!
Overtime rules: there is no clock in overtime. Each team has a possession starting at the 25 yard line. A coin toss determines who gets possession first. If the game is still tied after the first overtime, there is 2nd overtime (same rules as the first but the team who went last in 1st OT goes first now. If it is tied after the 2nd OT. Then it's the 2 point conversions (only get one play each possession) to determine the winner. It's pretty unique in terms of overtime rules in sports
To clarify, these are the college football rules for overtime. NFL overtime has a different set of rules. 15 minute clock, coin toss for possession. Sudden death only if the first team with the ball scores a touchdown. If not, then either team may win in sudden death with a field goal. And the game can end in a tie/draw if neither team scores in the overtime.
For some more context, Alabama is our biggest rival here at LSU. We haven't beaten them at home since 2010, and the stadium was so loud, the footage doesn't do it justice on how loud the 100,000 people in attendance were. If you haven't seen the footage of the fans rushing the field, I highly recommend going back and watching some of it. Best experience of my life.
Alabama and LSU (Louisiana state university) have a very heated rivalry. They pretty much hate each other. LSU hired a new coach this year. They finished the season last year with a losing record and we're really bad. For them to be 7-2 and winning against Alabama is honestly crazy. If LSU wins their last 3 games they will play for their conference championship. Also LSU is one of only 2 or 3 D1 teams that wear white at home.
@@Stephanie_Rose LSU clinches the SEC West if they beat both Arkansas and Texas A&M (their other opponent is UAB) OR if they beat either of them and Ole Miss loses one of their 3 remaining games. (LSU owns the tiebreaker over both Ole Miss and Alabama)
Here's a crazy one for you, back in 2016 in Bristol, TN there was a game between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Tennessee Volunteers that took place inside Bristol Motor Speedway and was known as The Battle At Bristol. 155K+ in attendance. Or from 2018, the LSU at Texas A&M, an absolute thriller.
I'd love to see you react to last year's NFL Playoff game between Kansas City and Buffalo. It has gone down as one of the greatest playoff games of all time and the game simply known as "13 Seconds"
As an LSU graduate (Geaux Tigers!) the SEC is a fierce and best competitive football and sports conference in the USA. The LSU-Bama rivalry is a long storied rivalry and this game is now a classic. Want to really enjoy LSU Football? Watch the 2019 team that was unbeatable as most of that team is now in the NFL.
LSU Bama, is a heated rivalry that Alabama has gotten the better of over the past decade. The teams are usually both in the top ten when they meat. Look up the 2019 game for an all time classic. I recommend the Harris Highlights version.
I went to LSU. There is nothing like Tiger Stadium, better known as Death Valley. This was one of the greatest games ever in the greatest rivalry in college football.
There is a seismograph on campus and we set it off twice during the game. First when we scored the TD in overtime and again when we scored the two point conversion. Yes, we shook earth with our cheering. GEAUX TIGERS!
my brother was at that game and had a ticket for me, but I was working a few states away. The entire crowd rushed the field after that game. That was definitely history just because LSU came off a horrible year and had a new coach
If you go to any college game it needs to be a night game at LSU. Great tailgating, great atmosphere. Stadium holds 103,000 and is one the loudest sporting events you’ll go to.
Alabama is kind of like the Empire in Star Wars. They just move around crush everything. Since 1960 they have won 13 National championships. The next closest is USC with 7, then Miami and Nebraska with 5, then Texas, Oklahoma and Notre Dame with 4. Over the last 13 years they have played in the Championship game 9 times and won it six times. Since 2008 their record is 176-17 which means they have won 90% of their games over the last 14 years. They are a machine and a lot of people are sick of them but ... they are VERY good.
ALSO want to mention that Alabama is what everyone else is compared to. Everyone wants to beat Alabama to prove how good they are. That mentality leads some teams to beat Alabama when they really shouldn't.
Nope, as an LSU alum, you have to respect the Tide hustle, you just are envious bc you wish it was your school. But, I love the Emprie ref, absolutely awesome!
Did you see where after the TD in overtime the crowd noise went to 113 decibels and was recordedon the Richter Scale. Then after the 2pt conversation the crowd noice was around 130 decibels. The game will be remembered as the night the earth shook twice
Hey BG! Love your interest in American Football. Nothing like college games either. 18-22 year old athlete's playing for 100K fans in the stadium. If you are ever in Louisiana in the Fall, let me know and I'll get you to a game. Quite an experience. Gradulated from LSU in the 90s and now living in NZ.
Alabama and LSU both play in the SEC Western Division. In the last 20 years Alabama has won 6 National Championships which is 1st in the Country. In the last 20 years LSU has won 3 National Championships which is 2nd in the Country. That is 9 of the last 20 National Championships by 2 teams which play each other every year in the same Division of the Southeastern Conference.
I used to coach football, I coach kids, I coach adults men and I coach women I love the way you like to learn this sport females I love coaching them too. They want to learn. It makes me Hopeful about going back coaching again.
Gibbs IS a machine. He is NOT once in a generation. Bijan Robinson (TEX), DeWayne McBride(UAB), Blake Corum(MICH) and Deuce Vaughn(KSU) are all arguably playing better than Gibbs this year.
Alabama doesn’t have it this year they don’t have the elite receivers they usually lose 1 or no games in a season. They also don’t have the defenses they are used to having one of their best defensive coordinators is at Georgia now as the head coach and has one of if not the best defense every year. They won in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2020 all under Nick Saban who has 7 national championships.
So you are really saying that Alabama isn't the unholy - soul crushing machine they normally are. This year they are simply .... a really good team but beatable.
The 2017 title game between Clemson and Bama is one of the great games. Check it out. Bama hasnt just won 6 titles in 12 years they have played in 2 more title games. A dominant team that most of us root against, but respect.

The last LSU touchdown and 2pt conversion recorded on the richter scale across campus at the seismology office...this is the 2nd earthquake game LSU fans have caused
It doesn't really hurt as much as you think to get hit in football. You become conditioned to it. It is kind of remarkable really. Now, some hits hurt don't get me wrong. It is more of a feel it the next day thing.
I know time wise It makes sense to watch the highlights but booooy do you miss so much intensity only doing the highlights of this game. Every single play was insane and I would highly recommend just on your own time going and watching the whole game. And even just watching the fans rush the field!
Gibbs is definitely going to the NFL, as long as he wants too and nothing terrible happens between now and then. Whether or not he's the best prospect or not I'm not entirely sure. I know people like their QB a lot also although he didn't play all that well this particular game, he won the Heisman trophy last year (best player in the country), so he's probably gonna be picked first by virtue of being a QB.
