The Sony A7iii is a beast of a camera in terms of low light and battery. I shot an entire feature on it, that got a bit of attention for its impressive cinematography. I really am loving sony for narrative and weddings. Shot a bunch of weddings on sony cameras and it always has done great work for me! Thanks Matt for posting this great behind the scenes video.

I don't particularly trust the equipment and the sd card 100%. Since the time of vhs I always had a camera on the tripod. Open image with the wedding couple and capturing the audio. hugs here from Brazil and congratulations for sharing your experience.

Why is the first interview with the groom filmed at 30fps and the second with the bride at 24fps? Arent all shots that you intend to use the audio with supposed to be filmed in 24fps?
Yes, I believe he's mentioned that in another video that audio should be at 24fps. I think in this situation, they probably just forgot to switch it from 30fps to 24fps.
Recording the audio has nothing to do with the videos frame rate.

I enjoyed your BTS - thank you for giving us a look at your process. (note to self... I'm working way too hard shooting weddings. Lol) Dude, I could easily have about 1h 45 min. of bride prep footage alone. Same with groom prep.

One question I would like to ask is if you maintain your shutter speed double the frame rate throughout the day or do you crank up the shutter speed or use filters for outside conditions especially!?

I assume you are keeping the shutter speed at double the frame rate and that's why it wasn't mentioned with all of the other attributes? But I did have one question, why not just lower the aperture instead of bumping your iso up so high? Is it simply to keep things crisp and clear? I am a noob and aperture is my hardest thing I'm trying to perfect right now. Thanks Matt, love all of your videos and your amazing talents!

Such an inspirational video, Matt. There’s a ton of work that goes into making a BTS like this, and it pays off! Question... Have you covered the topic of “weddings (or moments) gone wrong” at all? I feel like that would be immensely helpful for videographers who just can’t seem to get a break or find the “perfect” wedding. Maybe it doesn’t merit an entire video but there are so many things that can go wrong at a wedding and it would be great to know a) how to plan around them and b) how to anticipate them. Maybe it’s as simple as “get gud.” 🤷🏻♂️
