- ✉️ Briefing:
During the last days of the battle of Dien Bien Phu, French troops led by a fearless lieutenant colonel are surrounded by the North Vietnamese divisions. Despite the situation, a last plane is coming over the besieged fortress, in order to drop some supplies and volunteers to the garrison. After harsh days of fight, the base is taken and the survivors are sent in captivity. Some months later, it's finally the liberation: the battalion is sent to Algeria, where troubles rage. An Algerian soldier can finally reunite with his family, but his young brother is out tonight: making some independence tags with a friend, he got wounded by the police and die in the arms of his brother. Torn by hate, the former French paratrooper decides to join the Algerian uprising. The laws of war are merciless, and the old comrades will have to fight each other..

You know,as the French are being pushed out from Africa by Russia and China,as I write this comment,left completly unsupported by the West. I admire their tenacity,to atleast try keep their colonies and have goals and ambitions separate from NATO and America. Unlike Great Britain who caved in without a complaint
True. You can also thanks the Brits for the cancellation of Operation Vulture which could have saved our troops..
Britain fought some colonial wars. Also, Britain was smart, British businesses are free to operate in most of their former colonies
Vive la France mes amis 🇨🇵
As the Indochinese and Algerian conflicts are over since 50+ years, thanks to not flood with comments pretending X or Y side was right. This video doesn't take any part, it's here to depicts the tragedy and the characteristics of those events:
- Sacrifice of French soldiers sent to Dien Bien Phu, abandonned by our allies (operation Vulture) and our own government ;
- Troubles in Algiers, involving both guilty parties but also innocents ;
- Long convoys between FOBs in the endless desert of Algeria ;
- Use of helicopter tactics by the French army, which will inspire the US years later in Vietnam ;
- And, of course, the tragedy of formers comrades fighting each others for their convictions..
Provoke, post anti French/Indochinese/Algerian stuff and firestart troubles in the comments of this video will not help at all: we must get over it, and of course not forget what happened between our countries. Just enjoy the video, and if you don't, leave a dislike and do something else. Thanks for your understanding.
i agree
Tahia Djazair !
A very nice change to see some more of the French military in the darksynth genre. The more we push back against the silly myths of the past, the more we can acknowledge the actual bravery shown by soldiers of one of the worlds great nations.
Keep up the great work, from perfidious Albion!
Hehe, thanks for your fidelity to the channel man.
For thoses interested, the clip come from the movie "les centurions" a franco-american production depicting the life of a fictionnal french para officer widely based on the real life general Bigeard, a greater than life character that had the distinction to be one of the few general in the french army to start as a private.
As we said before, yes.
Bravo ! De belles images ! 🇫🇷
Merci !
That is a great quality content we got over here. Bien joué !
Merci !
Lost Command starring the late great Anthony Quinn. 👍
Yeah, very good war movie! Discovered it lately.
Guerre d'Indochine et d'Algérie. Tiré du film américain de Marc robson les centurions qui date de 1966.
Another great masterpiece
Thank you!
@@Sternjaeger merci !
Good vid, could I have the name of the movie please ?
Les Centurions
"Les Centurions", or "Lost Command" in English.
