- Impromptu 2-night backpacking adventure in Algonquin, this time hiking the Western Uplands Backpacking Trail.
First night spent in Maple Leaf Lake, second night at Maggie Lake.
Amazing adventure kicked off with a night hike Friday evening to arrive at the campsite on Maple Leaf, then topped off with the discovery of the most amazing site at Maggie Lake. Close to 30km overall.
Oh, and I composed my first poem at the age of 42. Check it out!
Thanks for watching.

Makes me smile to see you so happy on the trail!
The dates & names carved into bridges & felled logs in the parks are the names and dates of when and who built them! Some are very old, others' not so much. I always find it interesting to see how long the swamp bridges last. 🙂
Ha! Good to know about the carved names! 👍🏼
Yes mano! Killer poem!
Water looks so calm and amazing 😀
17:33 ❤️! This looked like an exciting hike 😁 Maggie Lake site #3 👌🏽
The sites you stayed at look gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your trip 😁
It was a lovely surprise indeed! Lots more of the Western Upland Trails to explore this year. 🤙🏼
Just an FYI. Drones aren’t allowed in Provincial or National Parks.
Saw that online as well after the trip. It’s strange because DJI has a built-in functionality that tells you where you cannot fly, but nothing comes up at the park. Will follow up…
So why did you leave so late during rush hour?
Work man…couldn’t shake it off early enough.
Was also prepared to sleep in the car if needed, but I felt good going in with that last little bit of daylight. Got exciting but all good. 😄
