I had my car MOT 'd last week and the mechanic told me his colleague always unplugs customers dash cams as it's against his human rights to be recorded without his permission.
I have no idea where they get their information from but it's painful to hear

If an MOT mechanic did that with my dashcam, I would refuse to pay the bill. Not being a mechanic, I would have no idea whether or not the MOT was legit.

I reached the stage where I tell people that 'I'm taking photos for historical purposes'... and guess what ? They don't understand that either ! Yet those SAME PEOPLE would happily look at photos the were taken a few years ago and say ' I used to work there ' ( etc ).
Yesterday is history...five minutes ago is history.

And yet those same people will happily take their own photos, life story and post them all over soc media ie Facebook, Tik Tok etc for all to see. Oh the irony!

The first guy in the hi viz jacket of power, appoaches a man carrying a tripod with a camera mounted on it. His first question was can i ask what it is you're doing? Now I'm no rocket scientist, but it's not very difficult to even hazard a half decent guess as to what the person might be doing. Or am i barking up the wrong tree here? Nothing wrong with asking someone what they are doing, if it's not blatantly obvious, that's different obviously, but when the evidence is stirring you right in your face, it just sounds totally wrong, or indeed stupid.

Actually some people do have a problem with Google Street view team. Also if it was Google you would know. There is stickers all over the camera unit with "Google maps" on. Also the camera is about 6ft off the floor (some are higher as the person carrying it is 6ft to start with) hope that helps

Yep, i would agree. They are sheep, and sheep will obey their dog. Instead of standing up and thinking for their self. They believe that what they ask or tell you is true. Just because someone fooled them for years. Hopefully that will waken them up and realise some basketball player has lied for years to me.
Thats why in the days when we needed proper union and chargehands on the work areas. They were people like me who took no crap and spoke up for the rest. The management knew that they were not bluffing me or people like me. And the ones in this video just fell down when confronted.

I think your explanation is an interesting explanation, but most people who are busy don't really care because they don't have the time to care, They are at work. I expect security to take an interest, the other people are not really scared of a stranger, if they were they would not approach you.
The ones who come up like to be nosey and tell others what to do, and soon as they are challenged they act if the other person is being rude and evasive.
Be kind to them and try to educate them might work, or tell them to mind there own business might work or will just aggravate them more.
I learned to look after myself, I tell people like this to mind their own business and call the police if their not satisfied, I try to do it in a civil manner, and sometimes not so much.
It has always been like this, always will. Some folk for mostly the wrong reasons Cannot keep their fucking noses out other peoples business.

Photography is not a crime. I have said that for decades. Regardless of whether you believe your entitled to privacy. Your in the public and if i can see you. I can take a picture of you. Just like the CCTV that watch your every move. Do they question that. A bit weird i hear them say.
