This a black community problem. We treat each other as a monolith growing up. But you can't let bad experiences define your perception of black women as a whole. When I got out of high school and got older I met tons of black women interested in me. You'd be surprised how many sisters love a smart brother who is into things different than them. One woman I was with said she loved to just sit and listen to my talk about science and politics. They're out here but you draw them in when you exude confidence in who you are. The woman I'm with currently is black and I wouldn't have it any other way. You gotta let go of that past trauma and realize those few women were ignorant. There's a lot of alternative and goth black women who get treated the same way you did. As a whole we have to stop treating black people as this default archetype where anything slightly different is weird. We're too amazing for that.
