Great to hear your update! I'm so glad the girls are doing so well. Huge congrats to your daughter with the birth of her son. Your school sounds amazing. Day in the life videos sound fab as does curriculum flip-throughs. Really sorry about your husband's job. I hope he finds something great soon. Best wishes and Merry Christmas!
So glad that you and your family are doing well! How cool that your school really took off! I’m sure that was a whirlwind! 😊 I would still love to hear about your curriculum and DITLs etc.
So great to see you Natasha! I am so happy that all is going well. Our homeschool co-op bought an old school and may be starting a small private school in addition to the already planned enrichment classes. I would LOVE to see what curriculum you have chosen for your school. That could be helpful!
@@EducationalRoots I get it - we've also been meeting in way too small spaces in church classrooms. HOWEVER, the process has been kind of a nightmare. Dealing with the local officials, trying to fundraise for building repairs...it's been a labor of love but not in any way what I would call pleasant. Trust me - you would not be jealous if you knew the half of it! 🙂
I have so many questions. I'm working for the online public school now and looking at doing the same! I am hoping to start a school in 2 years. I have all the questions! How are you structuring the days? How much are parents involved? How did you get private school status? Taxes?
I thought I responded to this! We have school Monday-Thursday, 9:00-3:30. We have Bible from 9:00-9:30. K-6 is all together in the sanctuary and 7-12th in their respective classrooms. All grades use Abeka for Bible. 9:30-10:45 is our language arts block. Recess 10:45-11:00. 11:00-12:15 is math. 12:15-1:00 is lunch. 1:00-2:15 is science. 2:15-2:30 is recess (7-12 don't have this afternoon recess) and 2:30-3:30 is history. Thursdays are different. We have Bible like normal, and then a shortened math period, followed by recess. Then we have 2 elective courses, lunch, 2 more elective courses, and then the whole school comes together for chapel. As far as parents, they're probably as involved as any other school...field trips, special events, etc. As far as private school status, there's very few rules for private schools in my state. As far as taxes, I started out as an LLC, but converted the LLC to a 501C3 non-profit.
I would love to see how your school functions, what it looks like, how it flows. But it would also be awesome to involve the kids in creating a video about their school and posting them different weeks on your channel. Can I ask what the name of your school is?
Just seeing you but I love what you're saying already! Your laugh is infectious!! I'd love to watch a day in the life...

You could make a year book sort of and have a senior banquet. At least thats what i would do if i had my own school
Yes! One of our electives is yearbook!

Hey! For privacy, I don't post the school specifically on here. :)
I am new! 🎉
