Pro tip on the "protractor" (which is a compass): Once you draw a circle of desired radius; without adjusting your compass you can put the needle end on any point of the line of the circle and draw 2 small lines where the lead is crossing your original circle (you don't have to draw full circles here, just some marks). After that place the needle where one of your marks crosses your original circle and draw 2 marks from there (one of these marks will be on your first needle hole). Last step is to do the same from one of your furthest marks from the original one, it will be obvious where you should place your needle end. The radius of a circle is always the same as the sides of a hexagon that fits inside the circle.
For more reference you can search for "constructing hexagon inscribed in a circle" for visual clues.

This is just amazing. As a kid growing up in Sázava (Sasau), Czech Republic, I used to cycle to Talmberg ("Talmberk" nowadays) and climb to the ruin of the castle. It never seemed very spectacular to me - there's barely anything left of it, just the lower part of one tower and a few walls, most of which have been incorporated into some people's homes. I had absolutely no idea that the castle may have looked this amazing in the past, and I certainly could never have imagined that in some 15 years, there would be a guy on the other side of the globe who likes it so much that he decides to make a 100% realistic scale model of it.
    Anyway, great work!

@@RealTerrainHobbies I am! Beautiful places, but I've always taken them for granted. Actually, as a teenager, I used to work as a tour guide at the Sázava (Sasau) Monastery as a summer job...
If you do end up visiting these places, I highly suggest you come to the Sternberg Castle (Český Šternberk). It's a late medieval castle too, but unlike Talmberg, it's perfectly preserved (still inhabited by the Sternberg family btw), so it can give you an idea what Talmberg may have looked like a couple centuries ago. And it's only 20 minutes from Sázava by the local train.

Surgery is rarely a cure for back pain and most medications are expensive, habit-forming and have nasty side effects. A lot of times something as simple as strengthening your back will work. I had back problems so bad that at one time I could not get out of bed for an entire week. When I started working out and doing dead lifts my back pain completely went away.
So why don't doctors ever recommend exercise? Because doctors are only taught to sell drugs and expensive surgeries. Most of them are completely clueless about exercise which can treat everything from bone density issues to debilitating back pain.

FYI, when making the towers it would be easier to have them in one piece. So for the large tower, 16 inches by 22.5 inches, the small tower, 12.5 inches by 17.5 inches. Also using a gallon paint can works best as a form for the large tower.

I LOOOOVE the fact this creation is full of little flaws, errors, shortcuts and approximations.
This is far more constructive and realistic, imho, to show how a "pro creator" gets his masterpieces done and his craft evolving, rather than polished/perfect videos so smooth you just get depressed, when trying yourself, and facing so many roadbumps.
And the warning about self sabotage is also pure gold!
As a long time creator myself, a lot of people tell me how they are just sabotaging themselves, thinking I'm impervious to those stuff, and just have some "magical infinite amount of motivation and positive attitude".
Hell no. Just learnt with hard work to face and punch through those moments of doubts and downs.
I hope it will spark the right set of mind in people wanting to take those kind of creation journey.
This is an awesome video, for an awesome project, hats down!

you could've used an actual protractor to split that circle into 60 degree sectors

I think that's why he accidentally said "protractor" instead of compass, as he was thinking is drawing a 60 degree angle the easy way.

I'm with you on the self sabotage, but it's good that you illustrated it.
The same goes for showing mistakes. Too many builders leave that aspect out so it looks like everything goes perfectly every time. And that can be damaging to people who want to get into it.

Your castle turned out so incredible!!! Worth all the effort I would say!
I also have a question for you, what camera slider are you using? Those motion shots are beautiful!

Hey this place where you steped... it gave me a hint that you could make ground alittle bitl lower - used this part when people step from stairs they after some time make a "hole" in ground from weight and steping always in this place
