I also use the mini mating nucs, and two frame mating nucs after I put the nurse bees in I wait at least 24 hours most times I will wait 48 hours before I open them and let them orientate, I keep them in a dark area with a fan blowing gently on them so they don’t over heat and die…. Yeah I’ve had that happen also. The extra wax on the cells is not much of a problem just bring some small very sharp scissors with you to trim them, what I do to try eliminate that is I put in a frame of undrawn foundation to give them somewhere to put the wax
