Not a cholo but i struggled with being different growing up, i loved punk rock(still do) and also love hip hop so i would dress in all black and a mohawk and band shirts but blast rap and people would make fun of me just cuz i wasnt a "real punk" and i was white and listening to hip hop, but fuck it, do what makes you happy because thats all that matters, its your life and you wont survive in the end so have fun and never hesitate to do something you like just because youre thinking about what others will say.

On a wider note, as a white guy from Redondo Beach, wanted give some serious love to all those tough, sturdy souls in East Los Angeles and the wider Chicano/Latino community in California who've kept the lights on for punk and goth music and who are reinventing its form for w whole new generation.
The coolest memory I have regarding this band is...when I was homeless in SF and kicked out of my spot in Oakland I already liked this music...it was fascinating seeing a man caught between two worlds... Loving goth music but being where he was from and being like "fuck this...I don't have to explain anything" to the "goths" and gangsters...when I was grinding my hardest sleeping next to other people's Needles...I ended up at the prayers show because my boss wasn't trying to let me sleep in another alleyway...same Mohawk up for five days straight... I knew the band before I showed up in what was the "mission district"... Was going through alot at the time ...felt every song. Truely a black sheep. Thank you for making this music.

They're gang members...they've had intense experiences in life, but I interpret the music into my own life (I do have problems but just not outwardly dangerous like theirs)...and I think that's what makes music beautiful. I can feel the passion and spirituality in this music, and even if his story is different than mine...I can feed off of his emotion. Fucking amazing

Just saw these guys open up for A Perfect Circle. Had never heard of them before. Holy shit, what a breath of fresh air. It's pretty fucking hard to stand out in today's music scene and be creative, but this is completely different. This is music; art.
I have to say, I actually enjoyed them more than A Perfect Circle. They're 80's as fuck but with a twist, and a much different lyrical content. I'm running through their tracks like a madman, and I'm digging the fuck out of pretty much all of them. Definitely a new fan here.
