@@jl5529 There are lots of Cuban doctors and teachers who live and work in Angola, and also historically the Angolan and Cuban governments have been allied (during their civil war Cuba sent soldiers over there).
TAAG also does 5 weekly flights to Brazil (4 flights to São Paulo and one to Rio de Janeiro) on the 777-300ER. Two main reasons for this relatively intense traffic: first, lots of Brazilians work in the Angolan oil industry, as there is a large labor offer in this field in Brazil serving the huge national oil company Petrobras, and Brazilian technicians and other personnel have the advantage of already speaking Portuguese, which is also the official language of Angola. And second, middle-class Angolans have been increasingly shifting to using Brazilian institutions for their more specialized health and education needs, instead of going to Portugal as before, as getting a Brazilian visa is usually easier for them than getting a Schengen one, costs are usually cheaper as well, and racial discrimination is also much less serious than it potentially is in Europe.
@@elliot7753 , in Portuguese (the language of both cities linked by this flight), that period isn't called "morning" at all. It has a special name, "madrugada". One will perhaps say "three in the morning" ("três da manhã") but otherwise if one says "morning", one means 06:00-12:00. Greetings are loose during the "madrugada" -- there isn't a "good madrugada" -- but usually one will tend to say "good evening" ("boa noite", also valid for "good night") when closer to midnight and "good morning" ("bom dia") when closer to 6:00, usually depending on whether the person has already slept.

Hi David, there's just a general aviation question I would like to ask you to hear what your opinion is; The worlds fleet of Embraer 135/140/145's are slowly but surely aging at a steady pace, what aircraft do you think will replace the Embraers that has the same amount of seats more or less? The new E-2 Variants has much more seats than one of the biggest operators will soon need.
Very nice video enjoyable to watch, well done. Also nice and welcoming airline and experience. As FYI, half of Angola lives in poverty with wide gap between wealthy and poor.
Country is rich in minerals... Sadly due to a family run like country.... They have one of the best fleets in Africa.... But over the top.. 777-300ER.... Are those planes ever full? And they are blacklisted and they only fly to Portugal and countries who are not as strict as the EU....

Great video as always! I was wondering, off topic, what's with the "Is it worth it" series? I miss it so much! Are there going to be new episodes or did you quit it?
The series did not seem to be attractive to a large number of people so I haven't planned to create new episodes recently. We have also increased our focus on Economy Class travel which is why we don't have a lot of Business Class reviews available at the moment. But I didn't know there was anyone who missed the series, so maybe I'll give it another shot one day... :)
@@simply_aviation Hehe I see I see.. I actually have never read anyone else commenting about it xD I also think it's a good thing to cover economy class more than business. However, I was wondering, what about reviewing more premium economy too? There doesn't seem to be very much quality material online about it and maybe it would actually be an interesting subject for "Is it worth it", especially since the price difference with standard economy is much smaller
As you know i am may your biggest fan ... Pls answer me . I am travelling in a month with ryanair . Do need to be afraid of air brakes ?? Is there a possibility my aeroplane falls suddenly . I ask you because of your eperience
Not well maintain aircraft. National carrier are represent country and this give bad reputation to country. IFE are not functioning and seat are damage without replacing.
...Wait, weren't they supposed to have broadcasted the inflight safety video before or at least during taxi? Why was the IFE still off? Hopefully, they at least tried to do a safety demonstration or this would've been a major safety violation. Also, whoever was sitting in that seat at 9:36 was either an incredibly rough sleeper or they just gave their headrest up to some guy in the gold seat behind them for some unknown reason.
Never knew taag existed thx felix, unfortunate that the ife is down on your flight and 7 hours flight a two full meals should be provided in my opinion
They do two full meals you have dinner and breakfast depending on the flight, sadly as I mostly sit in the back when it is my turn there is only 1 option instead of the two so I recommend sit on the most front row for the best food servicd
That's normal in Africa, where corruption, political instability, lack of funds and of specialized labor delay most large projects. It was the same with the new Dakar airport in Senegal (Diass airport, DSS), but it eventually opened and it's now one of the best in Africa. The old one (Yoff, DKR) was one of the worst, although it once had Concorde flights (refueling stop on the Paris-Rio de Janeiro route). As for BER, by now it would have been much cheaper to tear down what was built and build everything again from scratch.
Probably not. I think they were banned from the EU for many years. The flights to Portugal are probably lucrative enough that they would not risk losing their rights to fly to the EU for poor maintenance.
