This has got to be one of the best instructional videos on YT on how to install pickups into a Tele. But it's most of the important wiring is totally out of focus. Sigh. It's honestly a great instructional video.
Do the hot pickup wires get soldered across the 2 posts, or do you run a wire across 2 posts and then solder the hot wire to just one post? Hope that makes sense
Telecasters generally have a routed pocket on the front and the plate covers the route. On some fancier custom ones I have seen a route on the back but that just makes a bit more work when cutting the slot for the selector switch
@@outbackguitars3272 Yeah there's a tag on the switch body for it, and whilst you could rely on the screws through the control plate, with all the anodising and lacquer on some of them there may not be a proper connection. Definitely doing it. Cheers from Sydney 👍🙂
You need to slow down. I haven't been able to see any of the wiring which is a real shame coz uve got the data I need. Center the object and slow down. Be well
@@outbackguitars3272 hey there sir, just letting you know that this dickweed always leaves comments like this in videos where the host is anything but american. cheers and thanks for the video!

Glad to hear. I learn things by doing
i'm wiring a fat strat but this video helped me HEAPS!!

Great job young man!!! Worked perfect!
Incredibly helpful. Thank you.
Glad I could help
Dude I checked so many pro videos, you somehow made this easier than all of them.
I love you man. Thank you
do you have the tone and volume pots switched? Isn't the volume pot next to the switch usually?
The pots can be in either hole it doesn’t matter I just like the volume closer so I can do volume swells when playing
It always help when soldering clean metal. There is usually a little bit of oil on them from manufacturing.
Good video. This is the one I'll use, nice one thanks 👍

Is there a way to make it blurrier?
Yeah set the video to 240p smart ass
Shouldn't the volume pot be next to the 3 way switch ?
It can be any way you like I keep them close to the bridge on my teles so I can do volume swells when I play. But it’s personal preference
schema on picture prease ?
How do you make the cavity for the 3 way switch? Do you just route a pocket on the front or do you need to route that pocket on the back?

What's your thoughts on grounding the metal housing of the switch back to a pot body? Necessary or not? Cheers.
on these switches there is a wire for that purpose and ive always seen them in the diagrams i read so yeah I would definitely put it in

it works because u get a larger surface area due to the scratches.
Skema🙏🙏🙏

Aight here’s the shitty camera setup I try to make work. Your turn
...you said it and he is not paying attention.
Says the guy who can’t read a wiring diagram and figure it out themselves
Talking and working.way to.fast and not a very good view of what you're doing.
Nonstop talk with his British accent is NOT useful to an American English speaker. Get the video IN FOCUS and then post it.
Cunt I’m Australian you fuckwit

lol thanks mate
no offense but if you non stop shake the object you're talking about in front of a camera thats out of focus you're not really helping anyone...
Man I’m trying my best
your 'best' is not good enough ... do it in focus!
No you
Get a mic
Spend money? How dare you insult me like thay
This is so confusing
because he is going too fast and talking too fast in an accent NOT familiar to USA English speakers
Bruh you act like the United States can’t understand an Australian. We speak the same language
