    Holy crap, thanks so much for these videos man!!!! Most helpful things I have ever found to understand the concepts behind how guitar electronics work. Really impressive stuff.

    The switch has an extra connection, for ground. Good. I just did a wiring fix on a friend's Les Paul (my first adventure in electric guitar land), and that was the only bit I wasn't sure I got right. Looks like I did, after all. Thanks.

    Why are you now making these videos just NOW 😂❤️

    Best explanation I've seen so far. I wish you could do the same but with one volume knob in there. Also it would be great to show pictures of how it actually looks as well. Great work either way. Thanks!

    Excellent! I wired it first try with no buzzing or nuisance noise. 7:34 Diagram was perfect. I wired it with one grounded volume pot in the hot line. Thanks so much.

    Question:
    Is it possible to replace a 3-way toggle with a pot in order to dial in the different levels of the bridge/neck pickup? If so, then what issues would I face?
    In other words, I want 3 pots and no pickup selector instead of 2 pots and a pickup selector.

    • @ForTiorIJohnny
      @ForTiorIJohnny  3 роки тому +1

      yes, you´ll need a rotary switche. they are used on basses instead of standard switches. but the principle on how they work and how to put them in the circuit is exactly the same.

    • @kiillabytez
      @kiillabytez 3 роки тому

    How come you don't have to ground the blade switch? Is it internally grounded?

    Hello first I would like to thank you for this incredible video they are awesome. I have a must needed favor to ask of you, and that is could you please show me how to wire my active humbucker pickups to a 3 way switch and to my output jack. Could you please draw it out for me? its my sons birthday And I'm upgrading his guitar for his birthday.

    hi - great vid! would you know how to wire two pickups with independent volumes for each pickup? NO tone knob.

    • @beast99dp26
      @beast99dp26 2 роки тому

      So in a master volume setup the volume pot goes between the switch and the output jack. In the situation you asked about the two volume pots go between the individual pickups and the switch. Effectively controlling how much of the signal goes to the switch and out to the output jack.

      it´s fine. makes great clean and crunch tones. not exactly a high gain amp, but with a boost pedal it can roar.

  • @juanmedina3867

    You have a lot of confidence in what you do. But you overestimated that regular people don’t find this to be simple. Your next video should be you actually wiring a switch in real time.

  • @markkeller8342

    This dosen't tell me dick. Humbuckers have like four colored wires. NOT ONE. If I have 3 pots they two aren't hooked up with one wire.

  • @roberthelps561

    As with any rubbish teacher, this guy's opening remark is to tell his pupils that it is so simple they must be stupid not to understand. Everything thereon is presented as obvious! If it were so obvious then why would I seek out such a video in the first place? I watched two minutes and that was enough.

    • @ForTiorIJohnny
      @ForTiorIJohnny  2 роки тому

      did you ever have that big AHA moment when you finally understood something that seemed complicated and then realized how easy it actually is? that´s the point.
