We got another banger for Japanese festival or any festival around, can't wait for this to be played at Summer Sonic tomorrow, then Aftershock or Louder Than Life and see the crowd.
It's their first song released with this new BM reborn and formation.
Some of us already heard this yesterday because they premiere this at Apocrypha - Another One show, and someone leaked this on a fancam, it's all good, it was a blast and really unexpected but everyone was having a blast and even started with a Kami Band solo after a while without it.
Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festival when carry the shrines, similar to sore and soya you heard in Megitsune.
I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts.
The spoken part sounding like oba-chan could be MomoMetal, she's not moving her lips in the clip if you pay attention, fans are having a debate about it but she did have a spotlight when performing this and she screamed "Are you ready?!!" when performing live, thou again the spoken part sounds pre recorded and not live.

This song was MADE for crowd participation and flash mobs lol. Sooooo much energy. I can see the girls having the best time of their lives performing this. Smiling every second of it too. I can't wait to see this LIVE. I got a taste of it from a leaked video and it was wild. Momometal even added a growl after the spoken parts. And it was confirmed by Flugelhornoldman who was THERE, that is was Momometal growling the words "Are you ready?!" 🤘🦊🤘

me too. honestly it reminded me of Jack Black's style of high notes (and several metal vocalists actually) with falsetto and vibrato. of course Su doesn't seem to need to do falsetto, her voice is enough for that.

I'll be honest, when I first heard the song yesterday, I was anything but sure what to make of it. I may have gone in with false expectations after the TOO album. But already the second time, it was already a completely different story. Until now, this song has worked its way damn far to the front of my non-existent favorites list. And the video of course also contributes its part. From the 'in your face' factor, both the song and especially the video has quite a few Megitsune vibes, doesn't it? And now you can guess once which song is my personal #1 (so far?). :)

Yeah, give Momoko 5 seconds and she will blow you away haha. This song feels as if they gave 106% (normally they give 105%). They are totally unleashed here and it looks as if they had super fun doin this (though they are in fact very good actresses, so it's hard to say). What makes a really awesome singer like Su is, even if you know her voice in and out, she continues to amaze you. A quality that only the best singers have, like John Farnham, Freddy Mercury, Sia etc etc. Maybe go back in time and watch some Momoko Okazaki clips like her "Funny Moments" videos. Shes always funny and laughing. Worth a look for sure. Greets from Germany. Enjoy!

It was the same with megitsune, when a song has a lot of Japanese culture in it, it is difficult to explain. Read only if you are interested, as the content may be a little removed from the song itself.
METALI is a word that adds METAL and 祭り(Matsuri=festival). And this song is a representation of a Japanese 夏祭り(Natsu Matsuri=summer festival). For us Japanese, these sound and lyrics make our Matsuri blood boil. Matsuri is the heart of the Japanese people. It is said that there are a total of 300,000 festivals in Japan, both large and small. Matsuri means a ritual for worshiping Gods or Buddha, or an event held in gratitude towards nature. 神輿(Mikoshi=portable shrine) is a carriage for Gods. In the festival, Japanese people get around the Mikoshi and carry it on their shoulders in order to worship Gods. While carrying the Mikoshi, the carriers will yell "Wasshoi, Wasshoi" or "Soiya, Soiya" or "Sore, Sore".(However, the calls vary considerably from region to region.)
神輿(Mikoshi=portable shrine) and お囃子(Ohayashi=festival music) of Matsuri have a history of more than 1,000 years and are etched in the DNA of the Japanese people.
赤子(akago) is baby, 金属(kinzoku) is metal.
The instrument used in the intro is the 三味線(shamisen), a three-line string instrument.
"Pii hyara" in the lyrics is the sound of a 篠笛(Shino bue=transverse flute) used at Matsuri.
"Dokkoisho" is the voice used when lifting heavy objects. The choreography when saying "dokkoisho" is the pose of carrying a heavy object on the shoulder.
The choreography when saying "Wasshoi" is a pose for carrying a Mikoshi(portable shrine).
MOMOMETAL speaks in the middle, that is 歌舞伎(kabuki) speaking.
MOMOMETAL's odd pose is the Kabuki climactic pose.
