Episode 34: GRAPPLING GRIPPS
Until I started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Catch Wrestling, I had no real concept of WHY I did certain locks for different holds. I just copied what I saw the pros do. It turns out that the way you lock up your hands and arms can cause one hold to look night and day from another, in terms of authenticity.
Here I take you through the S-Grip, Ball & Socket Grip, Gable Grip, Figure Four Grip and what types of hold they apply to. I believe that once you grasp basic locks and holds, chain wrestling is an open book which allows you to be as creative as you like.

GREAT CHANNEL, WHEN I WRESTLED I LIKED THE MONEY GRIP. YOU REALLY NEED TO PRACTICE YOR GRIPS. I SUBSCRIBED !
Your match with tjp was superb
Marin Jelcic I’m glad you enjoyed!
You mentioned you like to keep your thumbs tucked in at all times. Does this apply to any hold or grip fighting? Thank you for the video!
It’s situational, and sometimes just depends on whatever you’re comfortable with. I tend to feel more in control with thumbless grips like the Gable.
Grip fighting would usually always be thumbs out for me though.
