    You are awesome! Thank you for sharing your getting healthy journey with us. I need to do the same but find it difficult to prioritise myself over my family and work commitments. I’m planning on doing a reset though of my healthy habits starting next week as I am on holidays so need to seize the opportunity. Wish me luck 😊

      Oh I totally know what you are staying, it’s a constant struggle for me to put exercise as a priority, one because I always feel there’s more important stuff I could be doing and two because I am so lazy when it comes to exercise as I don’t enjoy it! It’s a daily struggle that I haven’t conquered yet.

    🙋🏻‍♀️. Hi Lisa! I’m proud of you 👊. I need to do the same. I’m in my mid 50’s and need to get back in shape. Life happens and work life is non stop. I need to find balance I honestly do not have energy after work. I need to desperately change that. I want to do the same Daily habits you are implementing into your life. I’m going to copy you 😂. Plus, organize my clutter and down size. Here we GO! 🎉🎉🎉. 🌷🙏🌷

      You can do it lovely! I struggle to prioritise exercise, even while I’m out there walking I thinking about all the things that need doing in the house and I battle with myself mentally to stick with it for 30mins. I try to find every excuse under the sun to skip exercise cause I hate it so much. It’s hard to find the right balance when life always feels so hectic doesn’t it

    Lisa, I hate exercise too so I listen to podcasts while I exercise and it keeps me more entertained than just music. I usually listen to comedians and love ‘that’s enough already’ with Ursula Carlson 😎

      Yes me too, I love the crime podcasts and Kyle and Jackie O too. I will check out the Ursula podcast as I love her!

    So looking forward to the recipes. I struggled with going to bed at a decent hour. I am newly retired but am watching my granddaughter every day Monday through Friday and find that icc CC am staying up later to have “me” time once everyone else goes to bed.

      Yes I am a definite night owl too and by the time I have everything done at night it’s nearly 10.00 pm so I feel I just need that extra hour of downtime before bed. But I’m slowly working on changing that

    Hi Lisa my advice to you is get a set of Bluetooth headphones! It has helped me greatly when walking the dog! I used to get so bored I just didn’t want to do it but listening to music, a podcast or an audio book makes it so so much easier! Great series you are doing and hope you continue with it. 2 questions where in Australia are you and what is a junk journal? Thanks and cheers from Melbourne 😊

    Thanks for the motivation Lisa! ❤ Starting mine this week. Drinking more water, walk while listening to my favourite music, cut carbs & slow down (feel like I've been running around constantly, getting nowhere in a hurry!!)
    Thanks again for this series. ❤

    Great to hear how your week went. Those drinks do look so yum !!! I wonder if we have similar in the UK ?? My first week went ok .. it is freezing and raining here ( that is the excuse I am using for not walking as much as I wish I had ha ha ) I did get out a couple times. I have been taking the Dog on longer one hour walks .. he is not as happy as me. However, I am definitely feeling better about walking I have eaten a lot more fruit and yoghurt this week. Also lots of Bacon and Eggs too lol Had three really healthy dinners but also had a take out ... small steps I guess. I am drinking soooo much more water though and I can tell you that water alone has made me feel better. xxx

      Wowee lady you had a fantastic week, it’s not about being perfect but it’s all about balance and making small changes your body will thank you for later. So sounds like you had a very successful week to me. Yes winter definitely makes it harder to ‘want’ to go outside to exercise that’s for sure, especially with all the snow and cold. I can’t wait till I’m able to persist with an hour walk, so far 30 mins is my maximum till my back starts aching.

    💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜 OMG Map my Walk is my fav... I share with my daughter to keep myself accountable.. she's on me if I haven't shared it that day - Mum, where is your MMW???? LOL.. also, don't beat yourself up, its always hard to start, you need to remember what you achieve and not dwell on what you didn't, I always think "next week will be better" as in oh I only made it outside 3 times this week.. ok, next week I'll aim for 4! Good luck, remember we're all here for you xx

      That’s a great attitude to have and yes you are 💯 right. Every little step in the right direction is progress no matter how small. Yea that MMW is definitely a motivator to get your workout in, just about to head out now actually

    You have done so well Lisa, i think you are doing the right thing, step by step, one day at a time, i have started to do some changes with my eating, cutting out mayo, dressings, spreadable margarine on toast, ive gone back to a bowl of bran flakes or porridge in the morning, a light evening meal with veggies, fish or meat, avocado, i'm trying to cut out carbs too, as i know potatoes & bread make me bloated! Lisa i know its better for you to go out in the fresh air & walk, but you could go in Mikes gym and go on the treadmill etc..just saying lovely! xx💕 😁 i'm not that keen on exercise, a walk once a week and im in retail so do alot of standing and running about..i also have exercises to do for my knees from my physio but often too tired to do them once i get home..❤

      For sure lovely, these small changes will all add up to make a big difference over time. They are great changes you are making to your health. It’s an area in my life that definitely overwhelms me so I feel taking baby steps might make it easier to adjust to all the changes I need to do. Being inactive is my biggest issue so it’s something I will definitely work on

    So inspired by this... I will join asap. I'm still in survival mode here and limping to the end of the year. I really really really need to make more time for myself and taking care of me though. My productivity is in a slump but I'm putting it down to the manic year of changes. It will get better. Thanks for sharing Lisa - cheering you on as always. x Mel

      So glad you are here with us Mel. We can all help each other on this journey. You for sure have so much on your plate right now and it will take a little while to find your rhythm but you will. Just one small step at a time. Give yourself even just 10-15mins of your day for yourself whether that be to just breath, drink some water, go for a walk. Just baby steps to start with

    I focused on just my eating routine last week and this week I will add another goal (goal stacking). I know if I try to do too much all at once, I will not be successful. This was a great review of your week. 👍💪

    • @LiveItLikeLisa
      @LiveItLikeLisa  2 роки тому +2

      Yes that’s so true, I’m thinking of cutting back the habits each week as they add up very quickly! It’s better to feel successful with smaller steps than feel like you failed a whole list of things

    Im so glad for life to be back to normal...waking up monday mornings to Lisa! And lets all be real...walking is about as entertaining as rewarding your kids do big fat fry up in an immaculate kitchen. Your diligent cleaning is keeping you healthy from the exercise viewpoint, its just your body has adapted to that level of activity. If you want the walk to be MORE effective, buy a weighted vest (they start at 5 kgs) and walk with it on. It looks like a bullet proof vest, BUT 20 min walk with that, will increase muscle resistance in your walk, and during the day your muscles will simply use more calories per hour, even at rest. 2 x 20 weighted walks is more effective than a 30 normal walk. Sometimes I have to remind myself of what my degree is in...nutrition and pathology. Yeah Im preaching to myself here!! LOL

    • @LiveItLikeLisa
      @LiveItLikeLisa  2 роки тому

      Haha so true!! Yes I think my body is definitely used to the cleaning activity so I need to switch it up a bit to make it burn a little bit extra everyday to shift the extra kilos. Jessie actually has one of those weighted vests but currently I’m struggling to carry my own weight lol I have about 60 extra kilos I’m carrying around everyday already lol but will definitely use that as I lose some kilos

    Hey Lisa, to be honest I can't even remember what I said last week but I did walk around the block once we celebrated our wedding anniversary by going out for dinner, I'd usual want to cancel this but I didn't we also went to a party at our neighbours house another thing I'd try and cancel but I didn't and actually had a great time, and we rejoined the gym tomorrow will be the first day, just baby steps but I need to make it a habit. Don't beat yourself up if you don't have time for a walk just keep trying big hugs my friend love Kirsten xx

      Great job lovely!!! These little changes all add up in the end!! I would so be the same about cancelling the party too. But it’s good to push ourselves out of our comfort zone sometimes and we surprise ourselves by how much we enjoy it at the end of it. Proud of you lovely

      Yes Mike and Jessie have the Apple Watch and swear by them but I can’t wear anything on my wrist as it feels uncomfortable to me. That’s why I can’t wear rings and jewellery either. Hehe

    I watched the 1st video……went and made my list in the 5 categories and I peaked after only doing them once 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. I need to start small until it becomes a habit then introduce the next one.

    • @LiveItLikeLisa
      @LiveItLikeLisa  2 роки тому

      Hehehe we are all human I didn’t complete all mine either and I’m thinking of introducing less new habits each week as they start to add up very quickly. Even just pick one habit you feel would make the biggest change and just stick with that for the week. And just add only 1-2 new habits each week or even each fortnight till you feel it’s become part of your life. And the best part is we can always try again fresh each new day
