"Fear" of God as denoted in the Biblical Scriptures does not mean what modern man thinks "fear" means. It does not mean to be afraid of God. The biblical meaning of "fear of God" is to be "in awe of" or to be "humbled in the awesome presence of the Creator of all things". Yes, if we sin ( and we all do) and are un-repentant (that is, not regretful for doing so and not turning away from that sin), we will face ultimate divine and righteous judgment. And earn our just rewards. But God, through Jesus Christ provides a different and better way. He took our sins upon Himself, suffered, died to do so. Fulfilling the cosmic judgment in a way we cannot even imagine the hardship involved. We only have to believe and accept that gift of grace. "Only" entails a certain hardship. We have to give up our ego, our pride, our selfishness. That is not easy for anyone to do. Yet God has in store for us a much better existence than our pride can fathom.
Amen. We come to Him IN CHRIST and we can come boldly to The Father. Thank You Lord Jesus for making this possible. I come to The Father In Jesus' Righteousness and have nothing to fear. Satan wants us to look at ourselves when we come to The Father and be in fear of Him. Come Only In The Finished Work of Jesus on The Cross.

Quite a message Marty, when we finally understand the Father’s love for His children is unfailing. He sent His Son as a sacrifice to pay our sin debt, then we should realize that His love is real and we should have no fear. Five years ago, I lost my wife of over 50 years to cancer, the night before she died, she woke up from being asleep for about 4 or 5 weeks, told me, my daughter and son, she loved us. I went home and was listening to Beulah Land, the Holy Spirit came to me and I knew she would be in the Arms of Jesus. The hospice called the next morning to tell me she had passed away. I am so blessed to have a relationship with my Savior. We are all charged with spreading the Good News of Christ Jesus. Thank you for your rendition of my favorite gospel song. Merle certainly left some very talented sons!
Oh and more my sister sang that song lots before she passed I love listening to you and your brothers sang. I hunt for you guys on U. Tube God is certainly blessing all three of you boys. I know the Father and have since I was 9 year old. I was baptized in the Little River in the Smoky Mountains, I came from a very religious family on my Mothers side. I don’t fear God I fear the unknown of Death but I do know for sure The Good Lord I’d a Loving God, God is the Alpha and the Omega, the Author and the Finisher. I sure Love The Lord for Sure, I don’t live like I should but God Knows My Heart.

What did people do before the KJV bible? I guess they were all lost? No they relied on the Holy Spirit to lead them to Jesus
