Oh Yeah! My friend with extreme psoriasis, asks me to make her salt bars a couple of tymes every year, I just cut most of the way through and she can just break off the individual bars as she goes, because YES it hardes quickly. Yo a 🪨like status! We tied for quie a few tries to see what worked best. Found that making a simplev8" by 8" pan and cutting mostly all the way through, then leaving them to use from ther worked best, ship to her as is...she finishes cutting when she needs a new bar..and there's virtually no waste! Keeps us both happy. She uses the few grains that shake or rattle lose to have a bath with at some point..but by sending the entire batch tgat way she gets all the granules in *her* batch....🤫

Pomegranate to me so Christmassy as we sometimes had one in a stocking special treat, usually an orange with nuts. Now I have them in summer well Christmas in Aus in salads. Must try the fragrance to see if it invokes memories
I love to use soaps with citrus scents like oranges for Christmas! So, Ellen, I think your soap will go well with the end of the year! If you pour Christmas red or green soap into a sunflower mold, it might look like a poinsettia! I'm looking forward to your holiday soap collection! Today's video was great too!💖💚💖💚
I just made these. I used Bite me from natures garden and colored them yellow. The pink salt tuned my yellow a yellow orange. I cannot wait to see them unmolded. Thank you for the idea 😘😍
I made this soap and it set up really quickly. Got it into the molds but will have shave the bottoms to make them neater. Feels lovely though. Thank you for another great video.

My fall ones have Earl Grey tea, pumpkin puree, milk powders and all that goodness - it's so fun to play with. These are so gorgeous! I was inspired by watching your channel to try making salt soaps myself this past weekend, and I loved the experience of making them! I don't have cavity molds, so I poured a loaf and cut after four-and-a-half hours, and caught it just before it got too crumbly to cut. I'll definitely be trying it again, and I'll definitely be cutting it sooner so I don't nearly have a heart attack at them getting too brittle on me! But I'm super excited for them to cure so I can try them out!
Hi I am new in your channel. I want to learn how to make soaps for gifts and personal use. You are a great teacher to follow. Thank you for teaching us. God bless you.
Beautiful and love the emphasis on the seeds of the flower! The ones I did where half Sea salt and half Himalayan salt. They are curing right now and I can't wait to try one.
Thank you so much for sharing the recipe!🤗 I’ve been wanting to try salt bars for a while, I may give your recipe a try.♥️ these turned out gorgeous! Lightened up quite a bit!
I just love those molds! Is there a rule about needing to use a high coconut percentage in a salt bar? Or could one use their preferred recipe for a salt bar? Also, the few times I've had a bit of a lye itch, I wash really well with one of my cured soaps and then rub shea on the area. You probably already know that though! Lovely cheerful soaps!
You look so beautiful! I think I always say that lol Thanks for sharing this recipe! I also ordered your 3 cream soap and I loved it!! Smells soooo good🧡
I love love love these.Thank You so much for the recipe, if I could, may I ask for the percentages instead of the amount you used because I don’t want to make as many as you did. Thank you in advance if you can be kind enough to do this. The soaps are gorgeous. ❤️
Worked out a solution for a friend of mine who lives about two hours drive away from me, but has severe psoriasis, loves my oatmeal/salt bars(run through a blender, then make oatmeal out of it, then make soap with the oatmeal&salt into bars, and she buys them by the BATCH. I unmold, cut them * partway through * more than just scoring them, not quite fully cutting them though, then box and ship(powder, tiny broken pieces and all, when she's ready, she finishes cutting what she needs(fully rocksalt hard by then oft-times...and uses.. whatever is left as powder or small chunks, she'll use to toss in her bath, or for a foot scrub, often as just a foot scrub and soak. Whatever, she gets the full use out of the full batch that she paid for and SHE says it's heavenly to scrub right down to her skin! I don't fully understand psoriasis, so I have to take her word for everything to do with it and how those soaps help or don't.
Girl you are awesome. From the way you explain things to telling us your ops mistakes. Only way to learn. Do you have a video on explain fragrances more?
Hi Ellen. May I ask WHY folks use salt bars? Truly, trying to figure out why. Are these better than a “3 butter” soap? Thank you for your lovely videos and being so kind. All the best!
They have a wonderful "soft" feeling lather, and if you google salt soap, you'll find many pro's to them. It's just a great option, but triple butter is awesome too...
First, I just love your videos! You're such a wonderful mentor. Thank you! I must know, where did you get those containers you keep you're oats and clay in? Thank you in advance!
Hello, thanks very much for the video and recipe! Have you ever made these without added colorant? I'm wondering if there's little pink flecks of salt throughout white bars. I think that would look nice too. Also, I noticed that the Anthony's Organic Coconut Milk Powder in your affiliate store has maltodextrin and acacia gum in it. It's okay to use powders with those additives in the soap? Thanks again.
@@EllenRuthSoap That's great ma'am. Kindly show us this process in one of your videos if possible.. I wish I could try one of yours soaps..I love watching all your videos..
Hi Ellen. OK it’s been two weeks since I made my soap . I just have a question about your results. I went in and checked on mine yesterday, and are yours rough? All of them have a really rough texture , they smelled divine. I colored my yellow there’s just a tiny bit of discoloration because of the pink salt in the yellow Mika but I was curious as to they feel kind of rough and crystallized. is that how yours turned out? I have never made salt bars before and I did not know if this was the final results of them
There are several factors to the soap curing. Water discount, humidity levels, temperature... Even though they appear rough, I bet they'll feel smooth after a use or 2..
Ellen, highest regard to you or anyone acknowledging a slip up during videoing. I’d really be interested into how these salt bars with all your additives compare to ones I make with only salt as an additive, which I’ve used and find so wonderful on the skin. Can you do an update? Thanks for all you share.
I made salt bars today and I’m not sure if I’m being impatient but it’s been about 3.5 hours. I soaped at about 85 degrees so quite cool and when I checked them they look and smell wonderful but I noticed they feel a little oily on top. I have never noticed this before. Do you think this is normal. I blended to a light to med trace added salt and then used my stick blender a bit more since my temp was so low. It was nice and fluid when I poured and showed no sign of separation.
When I walk through Walmart, I see little silicone molds and I'm like that would make super cute soap!☺️
🤣 I always keep my eyes open for "soaping" things🌻
