I'm native to Colorado and I would never get that close. People need to respect all wildlife and keep their distance. Colorado will never be the same. There are too many people here now and it has taken its toll on our state.
Looks more like a frustrated Elk. Poor thing. We've been up in the mountains all week. Saw a moose walk right behind the cabin we're staying in. Do you think we walked up to it trying to pet it?? They're called wild animals for a reason people!
