- INTERLAKEN is no doubt one of Switzerland's most famous tourist destinations. Despite its big name, most of the people do not spend much time in Interlaken itself and instead travel to the nearby region around Thun, Brienz, Lauterbrunnen, Blausee, Jungfrau etc. However, Interlaken itself hosts an amazing lookout up on the Harder Kulm, from where one may enjoy a fantastic view over the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as getting a perfect impression of Interlaken being squeezed by the two lakes.

Love Interlaken! Everything is within walking distance! Also nice to have a drink or two by the terrace on top of Harder Kulm especially on a nice sunny day like yours!

Hi Soji. I guess many people do not take Harder Kulm into account, and still it's one of the most visited attractions around. I believe there are so many beautiful places that can be reached easily from Interlaken that many people forget that the most beautiful things are sometimes right in front of the door.

I worked in the Bellview Garden Hotel in Interlaken and Crebs hotel , also in Interlaken. That was 48 years ago. Interlaken was a stunning and educational location . The view of the North Face of the Eiger was something I have never forgotten. My home is in Canada .

Hi Pedro. Awww^^ That's so great to read! Thank you so much! It is possible to hike up or down. I think it might take about 1-1.5 hours. Hiking up should take longer I assume. I have seen many people hiking. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time for that. But it is something I would love to do. I hope you can visit Harder Kulm next time :)

Yes true. It's a major hotspot. But the people quite scatter around the surrounding region.
@@DjemoGraphic I had a night at the victoria jungfrau two years ago. Large groups of people travel in busses. Like someone is going to some kind of disneyland for adults. And Interlaken must do a lot of marketing in asia...
Most of Switzerland has a good balance of tourism. But the region has take it to far

Hi Ali. Thank you for your nice feedback. Regarding the natural sounds that's a bit tricky, because it's a travel vlog. For a cinematic video, the choice of ambient soundtrack would be definitely more appropriate.
It is ridiculously expensive ...
Its a major tourist spot, so due to the high demand its not very cheap. A money saving tip would be to take only 1 way and hike down, which I am sure is worth the effort. Otherwise the use of a half tax pass is a great way to cut costs by 50%. Though the latter tip is most useful to residents of Switzerland.
