Can 3rd party apps be installed on this ? I am particularly interested in installing the BMW Connected Ride App on this. I don’t like having that on my phone because it needs permission to track my location always to work.
Hahaha trust the Chinese to deliver what the people want! How many years of wasted useless Garmin navigators, phone mounts and bmw themselves just not giving a simple app connect 😂

I don’t think Zumo is done until there is a valid GPS based navigation unit available. This has no independent sat-nav map capability, only mirrors your phone map which is dependent on cell signal. No cell signal, no mapping capability. This is a problem where I ride in the mountains in the US. My phone drops present position on Waze all the time but maintains position on my XT.
@@Dbird1260 there are some options for offline maps, haven’t explore them all, but for example Gaia is one of them for gpx files.
@@Dbird1260 What a prat. The cell phone signal supplies phone calls and data. The GPS chip on every phone supplies the GPS data, you don't even need a phone signal.

Απ ότι ξέρω δουλεύει με όσα παίρνουν το NAVI της BMW, αλλά υπάρχουν και universal τα CHIGEE AIO 5 LITE και CHIGEE play που δουλεύουν σε όλα τα μηχανάκια.

Σε ευχαριστώ! Μέχρι τον προηγούμενο μήνα όλοι όσοι είχαν πάρει και μου είχαν στείλει δεν τους χρέωσε το τελωνείο ακόμα και για παραγγελίες που ήταν δυο μονάδες μαζί, ένας φίλος που πήρε τον προηγούμενο μήνα πλήρωσε όμως.

It also has vertical scroll functionality on the wonderwheel. I wish I had known this earlier, then I would not have bought the IO5-Lite. I don't care about camera's and blindspot detection you have to rely on your eyes.
It has yes, but for me it’s more natural the left and right motion.
CHIGEE is going to release the 3-PIN module for BMW( may be in September), which can upgrate your AIO-5 LITE with BMW advanced dashboard like the 5 play for BMW shows.
Will this have an option to add the cameras later? I really like the native connection and control but also really want the cameras.
No this model won’t get the cameras, I don’t know maybe in the future they will release another that connect with cameras.
Not possible due to power limitations from the BMW cradle.
Thanks! Does the Chigee briefly restart when you crank up the motorcycle’s engine with the start button?
@@romain487 it doesn’t restart, just turns off the screen, I’m guessing the bike turning off the power to lessen the stress on the battery ? Don’t know if the navi works like that as well.
@@Biketrips Thank you very much! The older Garmin BMW Navigator holds a battery, so it is not concerned by the power cut. I don't know about the latest BMW Navigator. I think the power cut is made to lessen the stress of the battery.
I have a Garmin Zumo XT GPS mounted to the BMW mount (1250 GS) and don’t intend to give that up. If I get the IO5 I’d mount it to the left side handlebar and just use it for CarPlay functionality only, with my iPhone in my jacket or tank bag. Do you think the right side DIN port has enough power to power the IO5? I have a Touratech dual USB charger mounted there instead of the factory DIN outlet, but don’t know the amp draw of the IO5.
I don’t know if that will work, but I have powered up my spotlights from the plug there, (not the one that goes to the Nav mount) I guess it has the amps, but ask chigee about it usually they answer on questions.
You're thinking about this the wrong way. Mount the Chigee to the bike and more the XT next to it. This allows the you to USE the wonder wheel, which the XT ignores.
Possible to purchase from EU dealer? Pricing already clear?
Not that I know of, I think they sell from their website only, delivery usually is a week time, used to avoid customs, but recently customs became more strict.
Has someone tested this with the RT series? And does the wizzwheel work with it on Android Auto? I just acquired recently a Carpuride 502b and these are the only two things I disliked about it
Works with BMW bikes that have the navi mount, android auto also works with the wonder wheel. But to be sure ask them for the specific model you have.
QUESTION: does it read the BMW app "CONNECTED"...seems it does not...
No, and I don’t think BMW will ever make it work, it would be nice for offline maps.

Hi, as i can see on your video, your phone is connected to aio and tft as well. Am i wrong? I can see aio working and i can see the phone sign on tft.... is it possible? Chigee says it is not possible. What is the true? I use sena. I can control audio volume with w.wheel. Will i lose this feature? I f i use aio, do i need to skip the tft from phone data music nav etc. audio line? Can tft get any audio from aio? Is it possible to connect phone to aio and tft at the same time? Or, is it possible to connect aio to tft? or i have to forget the tft and use only the aio to control the phone. Even if with the w.wheel... Chigee says bmw connected app is off if using aio. True? w.wheel is useful to control aio, or easier to use my finger and w.wheel is just a fancy plus but not really used? If easier, ( i guess), ordinary aio play is cheaper and do everything. Where am i wrong? Reading can bus is nice but necessary? I can see all on my tft. What i think is.... Aio is nice and usefull. For carplay. Easier to control aio in gloves than the phone and that's all. Ok. But. lose bmw connected app. Lose connection between phone and tft. Lose connection between headsets and tft. Lose one click music control and intercom volume control via tft witch are very easy methodes. I just think, but not sure. I am highly interested in your opinion. Thank you.
hi, the way i use things is, phone connected to BMW TFT, TFT connected to Cardo intercom, then phone is connected to Chigee aio for Carplay. So this way i control music and everything from carplay, but also i get the trip info from BMW TFT to the phone.

Aio to phone on carplay, phone to tft, tft toheadset? Speed limit info works, bmw connected app activ, can see everything on aio and hear things on headset from tft? Is it right?
If you could make a video about it, would be highly useful, couse chegee and other testers tell the opposite. So you know something that noone knows.
How do you manage to see display on aio but send audio to tft?
is there an auto brightness change setting of some sort on the chigee?
It has auto brightness with light sensor, but you can change it to manual from the menu if you like.
Can you tell us if this unit has built in GPS?
Build in GPS receiver it has, but you can’t install maps on it.
@@Biketrips I see it has a MAPS icon, so how do you use it without downloading any maps?
@@ericjames7680 the apps and map apps are installed on your phones, the screen is doing a wireless mirroring of the apps that can do that, there are apps that work and have offline maps so you don’t need signal.
@@Biketrips So I do not install a map but select a map for my area that is already on there and no phone needed? Just plug and play as some say after I suppose you use a WiFi to first update? I have watched 4 videos now and no one shows how to use the maps but just all the other things and no set ups. Thank You for all the help.
@@ericjames7680 the phone is always needed, the signal is not if the maps are offline on your phone.

if it has Nav Prep from BMW - they say yes. I think they all have the same mount, just the cradles are different size.

This version is the BMW version, but there are universal versions as well, check their site on the description.
Not sure why so many r critical of Chinese products if u buy cheap then that’s what u get all Apple products r considered gr8 quality & r made in china CHIGEE is just as gr8 quality & packaging is Apple like
Almost everything is made in china at this point, you get what you pay for usually stands true. You can’t have quality with ultra low prices, yes you can find gems sometimes, but with chigee you get quality product with reasonable price, considering the market and how traditional screens from well known brands look like they were made 15 years ago and software is so laggy that you want to dump it in the river, including the failure of a product BMW navi (garmin underneath) that costs more than 1000 euro.
Problem i See is the Art of buying in Germany. Via Kickstarter it Sems like a Prank. They are much over the top and fortwarf to collect Money More and More. Also we in Germany dont know the and. Costello of Taxi and Duty. Somit makes for me no sence to Act as a cashcow. I will buy it for a serius Price.

Η πλοήγηση γίνεται από το κινητό σου, όπως στα σύγχρονα αυτοκίνητα που μπαίνεις συνδέεται το τηλέφωνο και σου βγάζει Google maps στην οθόνη κλπ. Οποτε όποια εφαρμογή δουλεύει στο κινητό με offline χάρτες και έχει δυνατότητα android auto η apple car play θα εμφανιστεί στην οθόνη σου.

This is so Annoying, they could make a support for other bikes as well using the pogo pins!!! I will wait the Aliexpress clone, that will be universal and for sure cheaper. 😂
They have universal models. I wouldn't trust aliexpress for nothing long-lasting, like people that buy spotlights from aliexpress a disappointment while working for 6 months, then they die.
@@Biketrips But universal models with cables on the back, so you can't take it off when parking the bike like the one for BMW. Is just Marketing, they will make one for sure with Pogo pins but a Bad support, then they will make one, with a good support, after another one cameras, but 100% they will make some crap, so you get the next model. THIS THINGS ARE BUILT FROM PEOPLE THAT DON'T RIDE MOTORCYCLES!!
