"E to shoot lasers" was my favorite bit of the tutorial. It's perfect for getting you 1000% into the life and acrobatics of a cute little spider, then BOOM! Lazers.
yeah! I played it a few days ago and that part had me laughing so much, it's really well timed
Came out of nowhere, considering how the rest prior to that was teaching you how to make webs and dance haha

Oh this is *fantastic!* The webswinging physics looks fun, the little insect bois are adorable, and the bizarre, slightly outrageous world of Laser-eye spiders and Mech-ants is amazing!
Tfw you never understand people hating spiders. They just chill in their little corners, it's not like you are using them.
I fell in love with Portia after watching an Attenborough BBC doc years ago. I think I remember him saying something like "The most impressive hunters I've seen barring the big cats."
They're the cleverest and cutest little critters in the world.
I recently read Adrian Tchaikovsky's _Children Of Time_ and my love was cemented and shared. I heartily recommend both the doc and especially the book.

Honey bees and jumping spiders are right up there with cats, dogs, horses and sheep imo. Just God sent S tier stuff.

Given how Jeff was flaring his arms and his colorful bits during the dance I'm like 80% sure he was bringing you back to his web to dick you down, then again spiders can shoot lasers in this world so maybe the dances are more casual.

Peacock Spiders! Admittedly, one of the cuter spiders out there. Known for their bright colors (well, on the guys, at least) and adorable dance moves.

This might be a bit surprising but spiders can actually fly, they string their webs out and utilize electricity to float around in the wind. Usually before storms.
Only certain types if I recall correctly. Others can really jump far, others just make weird traps.

The devs looked at the ninja rope in worms and decided to make it into its own game
That was my first thought when I saw Tom using them to climb and swing around!

I like spiders in any case, but this is just adorable.
Who is going to tell him that the jumping spider "dance" they do here is actually, uh... let's say "the beginning of the mating ritual", yeah. No points for guessing what that spider is saying five seconds in.

fun fact the spiders here are two peacock spiders the one you play is a female and the male is the really colourful one! also that little dance at the start is something they do in real life and they are tiny little jumping spiders native here in Australia they are also completely harmless.

Fun fact, the spider we play as is a certain jumping spider, the males have bright bodys to attract females, so we are a female spider, aswell almost all the ants you see are actually female. Its quite interesting

Good to know that the spiders from SimAnt evolved into something a lot cuter! They could shoot lasers too on the 'crazy spiders' setting.
It looks like a Portia Spider. I read a good book about them, forgotten what it was called though.

This is really cool. The game looks great, and laser eyes is the best, if not most random, thing that I never knew I wanted in it!
I love the Aussie wildlife in this game. Satin Bowerbirds are pretty cool though they do pinch your straws and bottle caps.

me and Tom have similar tastes I think, given how many "Tom games" I don't want to watch a video on because I'd rather play them first, so I'm glad I already basically finished this game, barring 2 flies and whatever the hell the black widow collectible is, so I'm glad at 8:35 he died a way I've done many times, trying to jump through the crusher at the right time
