My wife and I did the short loop on the way home from Virginia to Indiana. We loved it, beautiful trail. We also did it clockwise and had a heck of a time keeping on the trail. Blazes on that size seemed to be a bit scarce. Carried as much water as my day pack would hold after the rangers told us the water was contaminated. We want to go back and do the long loop. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
@@stevemelcher7933 Thanks for watching! I definitely enjoyed it and would certainly go back. But like you mentioned, the water is a real situation to be careful with. If you get the opportunity, an overnight on the big loop is very enjoyable. Thanks again for watching! Happy trails!
Thank you for watching! There really are some great spots in Ohio! My family used to spend time in Hocking Hills which is absolutely beautiful. Still a few more trails I need to explore in Ohio, for sure! Thanks again for watching!
@@tridudyonthetrail For sure. We had a very quick trip to Hocking Hills a few years ago when driving through and we thought it reminded us a lot of the Smoky Mountains/Gatlinburg area. We definitely need to plan another trip down there soon!
Oh man, that is in my old stomping grounds. I went to school near there. I hope you didn’t drink the water! The heavy metals are no joke. I absolutely love it out there. Great video as always my friend! Congrats on the John Muir Trail! That is definitely on my bucket list!
Thanks for watching, Ghost Mule!! Trust me, didn't drink the water! Lol! Just got back from the JMT, crazy time!! Looking forward to catching up on your videos, my friend!!
I enjoyed watching, Mark. Great news on having an opportunity to hike the JMT!🙌 Yeah, water consumption anywhere around areas where pump jacks are operating seems sketchy in my book.
Weather looks great! That humidity will kill you 😂 can’t believe you even went into that creepy school/church.. nope nope nope lol just an old pump jack still running. I’m really surprised. Wow. Really enjoyed this hike! Great miles ! 😂Can’t wait to see you on the JMT 🙌
Thanks for watching!! my buddy actually told me that chunky peanut butter is better, but I didn’t have any! Lol! I am a little hesitant on the Sriracha! 🤣🤣
my english ears hated how you pronounced Gloucester 😬 back in the uk it’s pronounced “Gloss-ter” 😂 just sayin 😂 whoa that school house looked like something from Blair Witch … freakin scary 😧. The John muir trail eh …. that’s awesome… if you can try and do some training for altitude hiking (reduced oxygen) or spend a couple of days local to where you start the trail getting acclimated… even the paltry 5000’ where i live effects ya coming from Michigans 500’. Thanks for sharing your adventure looked like a tough un in that heat and humidity…. atb Dave Mc
lol! Yeah, I was pretty sure I butchered the town's name! Haha! As far as the JMT, the altitude is definitely something I've been thinking about... Going northbound and summiting Whitney early on will be a challenge, for sure! I've definitely bit off a lot this time! Haha! Wish me luck! Thanks for watching, of course, and thanks for your encouragement!
I’m from Ohio and rest assured that state has a long history of mispronouncing city names, haha. For instance, Ohio has a city called Bellefontaine that they pronounce “bell fountain” 🤷♂️
Isn’t everyone’s responsibility to keep the trail open? To just walk through without cutting down overhanging brush is just setting up obstacles for other people to deal with. I just recently started the BT and I’ve discovered that it’s not a complete trail and it doesn’t seem like anyone really cares about certain portions of it.

That’s awesome!! I wish it was a bit closer for me, lots to explore and a cool place! Thanks for watching!
Sounds like perfect hiking weather! Thanks for the reminder that there are some great hiking spots in Southern Ohio. Thanks for sharing your trip!

Awesome hiking video! 👏 🎉 your meal is almost like a hiker trash pad thai... just add some peanuts and a little Sriracha! 😁
Thanks for watching!! my buddy actually told me that chunky peanut butter is better, but I didn’t have any! Lol! I am a little hesitant on the Sriracha! 🤣🤣
Nice video. Good luck on the JMT.
Thank you!! Looking forward to more adventures from you guys! Thanks for watching!
Save your lungs! Use the pad inflator to blow air on the fire lol
lol! Good call! I actually used the pump with it a bit ago and was surprised how well it worked! Work smarter, not harder, right? lol!

Lol! I actually have a friend from Bellefontaine, but if I didn’t know it, I would pronounce it like a Frenchman! Thanks for watching, Ghost Mule!
