It's befuddling to me that Yankee fans and (in this case you too brother Michael) are troubled, acting like Juan Soto was a 12-year Yankee when He was a one-year rental. How many feelings was he supposed to have acquired in that one year to place the needs and wants of the Yankee fans and Yankee organization over those of his family and himself?

I am 68 years old and a lifelong Yankee fan. In addition to that I have been a high school and college baseball umpire for over 25 years here in the south. Last year when the Yankees traded for SOTO deep down in my heart, I knew that he was gonna go elsewhere. what the Yankees must do is turned as negative into a positive and Yankee fans must continue to support the team and move on at the end of the day the Mets . Do not have to beat the Yankees to reach the World Series, they must beat the Dodgers I wish him the best and cannot wait for the 2025 season.

The biggest lie that Kay perpetuates is that he is a journalist and a broadcaster and not a fan of the team that he covers. He is a Yankee fan through and through. Everything he talks about is through the prism of the Yankees. He can be discussing the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League and somehow he'll refer to the New York Yankees during that discussion. I think people would respect him more if he just came out and admitted he is as much of a Yankee fan now as when he was an 8 year old boy rooting for Horace Clarke and Jerry Kenney.

I think they are out of touch with the human side of this equation. The Yankees feel like they’re run by robots. When the shine wears off, do you still like the robots? Too much romanticizing of these guys. They're co-workers. They're not dating. You make it sound like AaronJudge is a jilted and ghosted lover. Jeez Louise.
Soto left one job to go to a better paying job, just like everyone else on earth. He's not impressed with the Pinstripes and the Yankees glorious historical record. Meanwhile they have one ring in the 21st century.
These Yankees are not your father's, grandfather's, great-grandfather's and possibly great-great-grandfather's Yankees. It's not the 1950's when they actually did go to the WS every year and the Mick ain't coming back any time soon.
The Yankees haven't been "The Yankees" in a very long time.

If Cashman and Hal didn't play this scenario out before they traded for Soto, then that's on them. Soto was a 1 year rental. Period. Boras doesn't do extensions. If Cashman/Hal didn't calculate Cohen's money, then they are just idiots. Cohen = $22b. Yankees won't make the same mistake with trading for Kyle Tucker. Reports are the Yankees are offering low level minor league players and Astros told them to pound sand.

It's important that SOTO is surrounded by a solid supporting cast. If this isn't done, the signing is worthless. That means that both ALONSO and MANAEA must be re-signed and COHEN,not STEARNS, has to sign a premier starter. THE MONEY IS THERE.

Yankees fan but I'm happy Soto got paid he performed as a Yankee and that's all we can ask for. Be mad but kets be honest we need more than Juan we have Judge who i still believe in personally. Jazz is a future Superstar and will be a fan favorite. We have a gold glove SS with a solid hit tool and proved he's ready for the big lights. We have a switch hitting CF in the Martian and a reliable utility player who plays multiple positions. Now we need to build, 2 left handed bats that hit above league average and have pop and are plus OAA defensive players and we need that to be another OF a second baseman and 1st baseman. RF, SS,3B we got covered CF we hope the Martian is our future.

I take all these extraneous stories coming out with a grain of salt. No one will ever truly know the choices in Soto’s mind that led him to join the Mets. But this all seems like a smear campaign to paint him in a good light and it gives the sports shows more to talk about every day.
