One of the finest moments in any Batman film. No dialogue. Pure cinematic storytelling.
Also - great cover! Never heard some of those trumpet ornaments before even after listening to this track hundreds of times.

It's crazy how many phrases from Elfman's soundtrack for this have been permanently etched into my brain, while it's a rare occurrence for a single phrase from a contemporary film's soundtrack to end up stuck in my head. The '89 Batman soundtrack is just so consistently good with it's very memorable phrases. Up the Cathedral's been my favorite suite since I was a little kid, especially the "Hatch" sequence, the pipe organ reprisal of the "Big Door" sequence that plays near the start of the suite.
It's not necessarily the music that's lacking. Name a mainstream movie where a director is brave enough to let score carry it for over a minute without dialogue, excessive sound effects, etc. You can't remember a piece of music if it's barely audible.
@@FilmCompos3r Yeah, I don't disagree with that. The days of the filmmaking with the prominent "theme song" have taken a backseat to background scoring.

On my l vinyl-record I think this track was called "Charge of the Batmobil"
