I keep thinking how Chitra Lakshmanan is active at 71 but after seeing ARS (age 86) I feel age is just a number.

Very nice interview. How much respect to his parents and for women! All the movies he mentioned about vadivelu comedy is my favorite too. I really miss dd and the dramas those used to telecast on Tuesdays
Tuesday long Drama in DD. I used to wait for Tuesdays. Even big artistes like Manorama aachi used to act in it sometimes.

when these legends are lost , their life stories and lessons are all gone. film institute students and commentators need to document their lives in detail . my dad spoke so highly and w so much respect for ARS & his peers even decades ago when we started seeing dramas on TV. they all used to visit theaters to watch their dramas then!

Any great Kalaignan is first a great Rasigan. ARS Sir proved this, speaking admirably about, Sivaji, MGR, YGP, Cho, Mouli, Visu,NSK and many more. He may be 86 but very young at heart, see how he lists all Vadivelu's films he has been a Rasigan of.
The interview was very fresh. Could have gone into Nayakan and about Maniratnam also.

I remember seeing him in Safire theatre ( I think Thai veedu or thee). During interval, when I looked back, I saw him. The first actor I have ever met. Next day, this was the main talk on my school. Powerful voice. Magnanimous.
