Yh unfortunately mxgp still have a couple of races in 3rd world countries where no one has the money for food let alone to go watch motocross. But it's a world championship so they cant just race in Europe

i don’t think it is fair to put lawrence above herlings judging only by their perfomance at completely different championships and videos from internet. they’re racing completely different tracks with different obstacles, and to be honest this year sexton is faster than lawrence, thogh not that consistent. and yeah, lawrence is injured till mxon so the it wouldn’t be fair to compare them, probably we won’t ever know who is faster, till they r racing the same series

it's way harder to bring 40 high level racers by class at the other side of the world than filling the grid with 40 drivers with 25 amateurs past fifteenth place

He used to race under the South African flag untill he joined the dutch team for mxon.
I’ve always found it weird that people say Europe loved its dirtbike series more than the US when every race on tv looks like it had half the spectators minus a couple California races.

The "pinnacle" of motocross racing and there's 16 bikes on the gate... Embarrassing... MXGP needs to ensure all riders in the championship can make it to their events, one way or another..

Yep, a joke isn't it. Go out and hold Grand Prix at these remote countries and the smaller/ privateer teams can't afford to travel out to them to race. Not a great look for the sport i don't think.
Considering there's 100-200 people signing up for an AMA race... It's pretty pathetic.

I am North American. Why is the starting gate for the MXGP only half full?
Some of the rounds are in more remote places and a lot of the privateer teams can’t afford to travel to them.
Febre,Renaux,Geerts, Fernandez,Jonas and others all injured
This race is in Indonesia...and when races are far from Europe they get less entries due to travel costs and only bigger teams can afford to send teams there... they don't pay any money too in GP to racers so privateers can't go hoping to cover costs ( which would be very expensive anyways )...🇨🇦🤓🤟

what is the point in having a race here? the logistics. the travel. for what? a smooth track with no spectators. a 15 rider field. everybody sliding out.
I guess you missed how many riders fell. It was a tough track.
Would be better if there is a race in USA, Australia & Japan, rather than this 🤦🏽♂️

the championship promoter has to stop going to places like these last ones just because they have the money to pay, we look at the grid and there are a dozen drivers, we look at the environment and it's zero, horrible tracks then there are places with everything better but no have money to pay

The only GP this year I've watched live that I turned off, 16 riders in 450 is not a MXGP it's a poor excuse and for fans a let down. Track too predictable, racing dull.

As a kid I dreamt of riding GPs on beautiful, unique, challenging, natural terrain tracks with enormous crowds. These races look like a poor turnout for a A class race at a night track in Iowa. 15 riders? Probably more industry and event personnel than spectators. I hope they can convert this into moped sales. Like @jamesmcnamara1619 said, contrast this with the national at RedBud this weekend.
