Hi Bob, thank you very much! I am very blessed to have this Jet.... I will post another very short video soon of a better landing and some flybys :) Rich
Thanks guys for watching. I will get some fun videos soon 😊 Update edit: do to a very bad fire season and dry conditions only have 12 flights on my viper. we grounded all turbines at our field. All's good though, I have some short clips to be posted. Waiting for my new jet project to arrive late November which was ordered last April 😂
Yes, that’s my experience as well. I setup a negative 9% down elevator mix to full flap for the first flight… wow it dropped quickly Zero mix was perfect on the second flight! Thanks for commenting.. Rich
BOOSTOMAN commented: "great flight. landing is very smooth. I would like to know what is the estimated flight time with the current turbine and the fuel consumption" Hey Boostoman: your comment disappeared? So to answer your question is 6min with about 2 min reserve with the original stock tank. They are using a 3L tank on all the new kits now, so you should be able to extend the flight times. I have a new tank coming from Pilot RC Rich
Hi David, thank you. The weight is 25.25lbs and wingspan is 2.2M or 86.6”. Take a look in the description for more details or I can try to answer here. Rich
@@RichJ53 Thank you. I am getting a Wind R/C MB339 and putting a 140 in it. A bit high on the power, but i don’t fly at full throttle much. It will be good for the vertical!
@@Davidjones-sk4vf Hi David, That will be a very nice flying jet! Chief Aircraft is importing them (awesome) I had one (HSD/JMP) had a SW120 which was very over powered. 140 will be crazy power in this light weight jet. Check out my other video of the MB339. all the best Rich
Yes, because the RC jets outnumber the real ones! It’s to bad the Viperjet company couldn’t compete with the L39’s Great aircraft Thanks for watching Rich
Hi Steve, yes the turbine ready version comes with pilot branded lights. They can run on a 8.4v Lipo or LiIon power source. Thank you for watching Rich
@@RichJ53 thanks! Left you a message on rcg. Do you have to turn the plane over to access the wing bolts or can you attach the wings and secure from the top? Thanks
@@stevecharrison you can install the screws from the top inside the canopy. I would be a hassle to flip the jet over for this process. I replied back to you in groups thanks Rich
Hello I am using 12 ch which includes lights of the Powerbox Pioneer with 14 available channels. I would not recommend using Y leads because you will not be able to fine tune the control throws and mixes. If you don't want to control lights the minimum is 11 channels Hope this helps
@@GreatXu Thats great to hear. Pilot RC recommends 160- 177mm from the wing root. I started at 177mm then moved it to 170mm. If you are a very experienced pilot, then you can use the 177mm position. or more. I found the jet to start giving me a highspeed stalls at 177-179mm. Hope this helps you ... please let me know when you fly your new jet. Rich
Awesome Rich! I am building my ViperJet 2.2 and I have a huge problem with the main landing gear. In fact, wheels cannot fit into the fuselage wheels slots. Did you had the same problem ?
Yes, I had this trouble too. Did you buy the turbine ready version? I ended up removing the gear and filling up the holes with Hysol. Aligned the gear with the wings on the fuselage, then redrilled the mounts. You might need to trim some of the main gear door frame too. if you need more help; give me your email .....I can send you some photos Rich
@@RichJ53 I just got the 2.2 Viper and noticed the the turbine is mounted from the bottom can you email me a photo of your setup and bottom engine cover, what screws were used to mount the cover.
@@eddiejames8739 Hi Eddie, Sure what is your email? yes the turbine access is from the bottom. It requires drilling 4 holes in the cover, locating one in each corner. They are 1.5mm self tapping screws. I backed up the fiberglass with some plywood triangles to give the screws better purchase. Also, remember orientation of the turbine with the top facing up. This will keep the glow plug in the correct position. Check with your turbine manufacturer recommendation.

I'm looking to get the same 2m viper jet from pilot rc and the swiwin 140. Did you get the 4k turbine ready version? I'm looking for honest feed back on the quality of landing gear and servos or any info for my first turbine. Thanks
Hi, yes this was the turbine ready version, but was older stock when Pilot RC closed their warehouse in CA. I really think this is a beautiful kit with lots of extras. I had some issues with my jet but this is probably not the standard. The AMG decals were not all applied and Pilot sent them for me to install. The landing gear is very strong however the Pilot gear controller did not want to work correctly for me.. when it was first powered on with the gear doors the sync was off everytime. I decided to upgrade with the Xicoy LGC 15 with gyro. Pilot supplies branded servos PW-20AH (20kg) with aluminum arms. These are made in Taiwan, brushless steel gears by a well known mfg. So far these have been very good for me. The jet flies very well and I can recommend it! The lights are installed at the factory as standard which is a nice touch. This was my second turbine jet and outside of some issues that Pilot RC & Chief Aircraft corrected for me quickly.... it the best one I have owned so far. I hope this helps you, Pilot has made some new improvements on the new viper jet 2M version; 3L fuel tank is one of them. I can highly recommend the SW140 turbine from Bad Boyz RC this turbine is easy to set up and has great power. The Viper can really move out with this turbine but when you want to fly slowly it will do that too. This video doesn't show the slow speed landing but it will do it. I will post another short video showing a slower landing. Let me know if you have any other questions Rich thanks for watching ,,, you can look me up in RCG forum
