Can use viewer luts instead of the aces transform at the end. V19 has a aces transform option there and u can also use the ocio configs in there, although takes a bit of extra time to set up.
Couldn’t get it to get an identical (or correct) result like with the aces transform in the end. It looks wrong, though I’m not sure why. Or which settings are you using exactly?
@@JonasNoell if you use ocio configs with the same aces version it should be exact. The problem is v19 with color management set at project level makes it even more confusing. You set it to output in project settings to srgb, right? Turn it to no output. Then in edit page will look very dark. But in fusion when you set the viewer lut aces transform acesCG - srgb it will look correct. I think best way is not to use color management at project level, but with aces transform nodes or cst.
@Vianavfx Oh cool, thanks a lot I will try that. Yeah exactly it is set to sRGB at project settings. It’s confusing that Fusion and Edit/Color page are living in 2 different worlds, I would assume to see it all stays consistent. So you set AcesTransform then in the end of the chain on the ColorPage to make the output look correct?
Normally 16Bit per Channel and Zip Compression worked fine for me. And for Burn Value everything at Default Settings, I normally wouldn’t mess with those.
Yeah it sucks that Resolve is so bad to load MultiChannel. Unforunately in the industry MultiChannelEXRs are kind of the standard so they have to step up their game here
@@piotrus3333_CGI My experience is exactly the oposite. Multipart EXRs handling seem sreally not optimized which results in very long loading times. It seems to load the entire data and not just the displayed part of the exr. In Nuke or even Chaos Player that seems to work flawlessly though. But if you know how to make Resolve load Multipart EXRs smoothly please share your insights.
@@JonasNoellI've just tested it to get some numbers right. hd exr sequence, 9 parts/layers, zips, ~37MB (so quite small exr): playback in Fusion is almost 3 times faster for multipart exrs.

Ok great will give this one a look as well
Very cool!
What exr are you saving? 32bit lossless?
What color mapping are u using?
Do you use Burn Value inside color mapping?

AMAZING! now i no need put exr to ae and export mov then import to pr and edit 😅
Brilliant
thanks
Use multipart exrs in Resolve. Always. 3 fps playback? Came on..

@@JonasNoell Multipart exrs - PARTS not channels. and support is ok. or at least good enough.
