Honestly I just want to use this weapon because of how cool it looks. But I don't like having the dagger in the other hand. What is your opinion on the Wolf Knight Sword and Lorian's Greatsword. How well do they stack in pvp?
Lightbringer Wolf knight is okay, can't say I've ever seen it in pvp. Lorians is okay too, but if I were you, I'd use the Twin Princes Greatsword instead of Lorians
what if you're like me and you can't block (I parry with caestus) people say you can parry the dagger coming down but I've never gotten it right so I really have no choice but to back away forever while they spam the attack or tank 2 hits to try and get some damage off
Nice guide dude. I still have trouble parrying the Farron greatsword. It also sucks when you get ganked, as this thing stunlocks you for at least 5 seconds, giving the other gankers plenty of time to pile on.
what about the stunlock of large weapons? you're stunned long enough in dks3 for a second R1 with any weapon. it just feels longer with the faron GS because of the dagger stunning you first then the sword.

lonewolf9864 skilled players can punish you very easily by stopping for a second after a 1 swing, so when you go in for an attack , they immediately pull out another swing, a good heavy weapon player is near impossible to predict and punish do to how easy it is to switch swing times.

Reds are never really bad guys. Reds have beaten the game typically multiple times and want the PvP aspect because PvE gets stale very quickly. The PvP scene comes after the details and magic of the PvE/storymode are done. We just get shit from people unjustly who are noob players and don't know any better.

I think you should include the parry at first spin too , saw some streamers pulled it off , imo i think that would be better in some situation against somt people at least knowing what they are doing . for an ex : sometimes they are not going to do the second spin if the first didnt connect.
Kyle Velasco I use this weapon almost every match in pvp, in conjunction with the Gotthard Twinswords. I haven't seen one time where I hit someone with this and they DON'T get staggered.
These tests are flawed but only slightly. Only fools open an engagement against a prepared enemy L1ing with this weapon. You start out with rolling L1s and R1s then once the enemy is on the run move into combinations of normal L1s and R1s tossing in some jumping attacks here and there only back stepping to dodge when needed not rolling ever. In general never give the enemy a moment to breath. Also the easiest moment to parry this weapon is the initial dagger hit on the first L1 from medium to close distance. You can't miss it. That is why I never use the first L1 unless I am running someone down. I should know I used this weapon from halfway through Ng to Ng+7. One of the best weapons in the game once you get used to its strange nature.

The only way you are parrying this weapons unique L1s are if your opponent attacks from close range which then you parry the initial dagger attack or if they go for two L1s after you blocked their first L1 just parry immediately after the first L1. Other than that it's all about timing like any other weapon. Those are the only sure fire ways to parry the Farron Gs.
Elliott Reed That's not entirely correct. You can definitely parry the L1 after the dagger attack from mid range, and I personally find that more reliable than trying to parry the dagger. After they stab the dagger into the ground you can parry the GS swing. I've been getting better at it, there's definitely enough people using the damn thing to afford practice. haha My friend told me you can also parry the third aerial swing btw, but I've never tried it, and people rarely do that third swing.

If you are using a UGS or any weapon with hyperarmor then you can just trade attacks. Someone good, will never L1 close to you, so you wont be able to parry the dagger. Someone using the farron GS can just L1 far away and if you block the first L1, he will not follow it. Blocking it is also hard because the swing comes from the side. With a spear, you can roll back and then attack. I still think this weapon is BS because its still hard to counter someone that knews how to use it. Edit: I hope they nerf this weapon in the following way: change L1 to a weapon art so that it uses FP. So L1 should be L2 and the parry should be L1. Its stupid that people can just spam the swing without FP cost.
