My options were to scrap it or re-think it into a way that was more fun and less stressful. I was thankful that a viewer suggestion led me to this idea :)

I've been waiting for the Emily Awards since last year! They're my favorite videos of yours. I actually loved your old format -- I found last year's Awards were a bit more creative, entertaining, and overall comprehensive. In my opinion, the old format really set you apart from the rest of the "Top 10" videos you find on my UA-cam beauty channels, and I still go back to those videos to find the "best of the best" products. But I still found this enjoyable, thank you for making this for us viewers, and I can't wait to see the rest in the series. You are always a pleasure to watch!
How about your opinions on the makeup and hair from the Golden Globes (and other awards)? Kind of like a kinder, gentler Fashion Police except beauty related --that might be fun.

Also, that L'Oreal True Match Powder is great as a bronzer if you buy it a few shades darker than your skin tone! I've been doing that for years and it's never failed me! Just throwing it out there for those of you who might have trouble finding a good bronzer shade. :)

I would like to tack on something about the Loreal True Match powder. . . if you have a hard time finding a contour or bronzer to suit you (like I do, lol - I'm very fair and very pink-y toned) you probably will have good luck finding a shade for bronzing and contouring within the line, because, like Emily said, the shade range is BIG!!! Also, half on topic here, but I've been mixing my It Cosmetics CC Cream with Loreal True Match foundation (the original, not Lumi) and it makes for a very nice finish!

also I know ulta sells a mini size of erase paste in the shade Emily uses cause I purchased that a while ago. it's probably half the size. I think it's around $ 12.
+Jane Doe the NYX Dark Circle Concealer /Corrector in the shade Medium is also similar. It's not as moisturizing as the Benefit or the Pixi, but it isn't drying either. I find it to be even more corrective and it also creases less under my eyes than the other two. (I do top it with a tiny bit of skin toned concealer, because it's very orange for my porcelain skin. If you have darker skin than me or buy a shade closer to your skintone, you might not have to.)
I wish you still included both a drugstore and a high end product for each category as you did in the past awards. Overall I really enjoyed watching this, I really appreciate how much thought and effort goes into these videos.
Emily- I adore Rimmel 25 hour too, you can go on beautymp.com and gets pumps to fit pretty much any foundation! I love the little "be present" note in the background!! My boyfriend and I have made a conscious effort the last few months to put phones away when we're together, or with anyone else for that matter, and just live!
This is such a fantastic list! ^__^ Sadly, Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation looks awful on my insanely dry skin =[ So for anyone else with very dry skin, I wouldn't recommend it xox

+Chronically Fabulous maybe you can try that trick Wayne Goss recommends and add a drop of oil to the foundation before application. I use argan oil and it works. First use a good moisturizer . I use CeraVe. It works really good for me.

Good to see lasting finish in the Emily awards again! When I got into high school show choir I needed a good foundation for stage, I remembered that you've recommended it so many times and it has never disappointed me! It doesn't take much to get full coverage, it's not difficult to apply, it's the perfect finish for stage makeup, and it lasts all day through dancing and sweating. My personal #1 face product of 2015.

But also, your dedication to this channel and to your viewers is so unique and shows how much you really care and love what you do. Love the top ten format for the videos, but the fact that you're also doing the full high end and drugstore awards as a blog post is such a nice resource to have as well. The time and energy that I know it took to put this all together, especially with a baby at home, really blows me away. Official favorite beauty guru on UA-cam! You rock girl!
Always look forward to these videos at the end of the year! You clearly put so much more thought into it than many others do and really take into consideration things you have loved ALL year round. So many others end up having over half their favorites being things they just recently got. I've been watching your videos for probably close to 6 years and really trust your opinion on products. I especially love that you give real reasons for why you love something or why you don't because it gives us viewers a better understanding of whether the product may or may not work for us too. Not sure why you don't get as much recognition as some other you tubers because you are definitely my favorite. I had originally bought the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops when they first launched and ended up returning them because I didn't quite understand how to use them. Since you love them so much I might give them a try again.
I'm glad you are keeping the categories on the blog.. that is the big difference for me with the Emily Awards, you gave us the "best" for every category and both ends of the price spectrum.. so someone can refer back when looking for suggestions for a specific use...not just "favorites" across the board.

I actually loved your old format -- I found last year's Awards were a bit more creative, entertaining, and overall comprehensive. In my opinion, the old format really set you apart from the rest of the "Top 10" videos you find on my UA-cam beauty channels, and I still go back to those videos to find the "best of the best" products. But I still found this enjoyable, thank you for making this for us viewers, and I can't wait to see the rest in the series. You are always a pleasure to watch!
How about your opinions on the makeup and hair from the Golden Globes (and other awards)? Kind of like a kinder, gentler Fashion Police except beauty related --that might be fun.

Also, that L'Oreal True Match Powder is great as a bronzer if you buy it a few shades darker than your skin tone! I've been doing that for years and it's never failed me! Just throwing it out there for those of you who might have trouble finding a good bronzer shade. :)

I would like to tack on something about the Loreal True Match powder. . . if you have a hard time finding a contour or bronzer to suit you (like I do, lol - I'm very fair and very pink-y toned) you probably will have good luck finding a shade for bronzing and contouring within the line, because, like Emily said, the shade range is BIG!!!
Also, half on topic here, but I've been mixing my It Cosmetics CC Cream with Loreal True Match foundation (the original, not Lumi) and it makes for a very nice finish!

also I know ulta sells a mini size of erase paste in the shade Emily uses cause I purchased that a while ago. it's probably half the size. I think it's around $ 12.
go to sephora and ask for a sample. my sephora was pretty generous.
+Jane Doe the NYX Dark Circle Concealer /Corrector in the shade Medium is also similar. It's not as moisturizing as the Benefit or the Pixi, but it isn't drying either. I find it to be even more corrective and it also creases less under my eyes than the other two.
(I do top it with a tiny bit of skin toned concealer, because it's very orange for my porcelain skin. If you have darker skin than me or buy a shade closer to your skintone, you might not have to.)

Emily- I adore Rimmel 25 hour too, you can go on beautymp.com and gets pumps to fit pretty much any foundation! You should definitely check them out- now I can buy foundations I shy away from cause I hate having no pump/squeeze tube!

This is such a fantastic list! ^__^ Sadly, Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation looks awful on my insanely dry skin =[ So for anyone else with very dry skin, I wouldn't recommend it xox

+Chronically Fabulous maybe you can try that trick Wayne Goss recommends and add a drop of oil to the foundation before application. I use argan oil and it works. First use a good moisturizer . I use CeraVe. It works really good for me.

Good to see lasting finish in the Emily awards again! When I got into high school show choir I needed a good foundation for stage, I remembered that you've recommended it so many times and it has never disappointed me! It doesn't take much to get full coverage, it's not difficult to apply, it's the perfect finish for stage makeup, and it lasts all day through dancing and sweating.

Emily you are freaking awesome! First of all, you look gorgeous in this video (obviously). But also, your dedication to this channel and to your viewers is so unique and shows how much you really care and love what you do. Love the top ten format for the videos, but the fact that you're also doing the full high end and drugstore awards as a blog post is such a nice resource to have as well. The time and energy that I know it took to put this all together, especially with a baby at home, really blows me away. Official favorite beauty guru on UA-cam! You rock girl!
Always look forward to these videos at the end of the year! You clearly put so much more thought into it than many others do and really take into consideration things you have loved ALL year round. So many others end up having over half their favorites being things they just recently got. I've been watching your videos for probably close to 6 years and really trust your opinion on products. I especially love that you give real reasons for why you love something or why you don't because it gives us viewers a better understanding of whether the product may or may not work for us too. Not sure why you don't get as much recognition as some other you tubers because you are definitely my favorite. I had originally bought the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops when they first launched and ended up returning them because I didn't quite understand how to use them. Since you love them so much I might give them a try again.
I'm glad you are keeping the categories on the blog.. that is the big difference for me with the Emily Awards, you gave us the "best" for every category and both ends of the price spectrum.. so someone can refer back when looking for suggestions for a specific use...not just "favorites" across the board.
