Hey, does it matter if you put the seal in the opposite way? Recently watch a vid on the model I have and the ceramic part went on the motor side.

Great stuff.....I replaced mine in May, but already leaking, so I suppose I did it wrong...Will re-do the job after your video and see if this fixes the problem. Thanks for taking the time to post this!

i would use a silicone lubricant on the 2nd seal being careful not to get on the ceramic this seems to extend the life of the seal in my experiences at least.

You might want to use some seal lube/sealant as well. Without it the shaft seal will not work properly.

Not the way to change a pump seal|! Although this pump differs from the norm in having the mechanical spring section in the backing place instead of the impellor, you have to press the seal into the backing plate and the mating ring into the impellor. Just relying on the spring tension of the mechanical seal to press it in is very hit and miss and can cause damage and leakage.

Just a point to note on this, this is not how we would recommend changing a mechanical seal on a Waterco pump. Our advice would be to consult a professional trained in replacing mechanical seals.
